Genuine win / win if true.
Dodoro has released a statement regarding this last minute trade deal

We really think Dow will add alot to our forward structure and settle down in the midfield and become the next Dustin Martin bit sad to see Hobbs go but he wasn't able to live up to our expectations as a half back flanker we wish Hobbs all the best at Richmond

Not sure why the phantom drafts all still have GC passing on Addinsall. If the proposed trades with GWS, Adelaide, and Port all go through, they'll have enough points to match their first 4 players.
Exactly, just 12 points deficit according to simulator. Maybe Twomey knows something we don't (Suns may not want him).

I thought the same thing, if they are not going to match, why are they looking to get the points.

That's the AFL, they're convinced people still give a **** in November (ex draft).

Pretty much it’s a great spectacle but it’s purely so people are taking footy in late December

Yep you still have not got it
As many posters have already said if West Coast really wanted Dean then they bid on him at #1 as there is no chance to get him at #3. Answer me this : Does west coast have more of a chance to get Dean at #1 or #3

But you stick to the company line
It's fairly irrelevant.

What is relevant is that if we don't bid on Dean at all and let Richmond do it, then Carlton's pick 11 slides back to around pick 18.

If WCE bid, 11 gets wiped completely.

So whilst 11 slides back to after our third pick, there's quite entirely a reason WCE want Carlton's pick gone entirely.

Perhaps they are interested in Williams/Banfield/Evans.

Perhaps we got wind they were interested in using it to trade back up with another club to get ahead of us for another player.

Perhaps they wanted too much from us for pick 9, so we're just following through with bidding so clubs know it's not an empty 'threat' to bid on a player where we 'rate' them.

Or perhaps WCE are pissed Carlton went after Chesser after the amount of time and effort the club invested into him, for him to finally look like he was coming good only to get SFA in a trade.

Then there's Matt Owies....

Either way, it costs WCE nothing to bid and it wipes most of Carlton's draft hand.

Essendon set to trade pick 9 to Saint Kilda as long as they agree to take Jade Gresham back is the rumor i have heard

That's the next stage of Drafting we're yet to see. Like your work.

What do you think Richmond would gives us back for CCJ?
Or Port for Polec? We'd probably make out like bandits.

Id be more interested in hearing about a new coat of paint to a room at AFL house than I would in anything cricket related.
That's ok. As much as I love the Kangas, I'm of the opinion that Cricket and Golf (whilst boring) are better than this touch football nonsense the game has become. You surely feel the same. I hate Basketball and Tennis much more than you do the cricket. I promise. I also don't have time on my sporting dance card for Boxing or MMA although I don't mind seeing the odd KO (as long as it's real savage).

Cricket has actually got more exciting since the advent of T20, more adventurous batting and bowling and an expansion of cricket nations to well over 100. Footy nah. I never thought I'd say that in my lifetime.

And there is nothing wrong with that and teams should bid to make other teams pay a reasonable price
The debate is more about strategically if wanting the highly rated player the best chance to get them.

Apparently Essendon still keen on pick 2 and have 5 + 9 on the Table for 2 + 12, any chance the Eagles look at that?

No. You’re not getting a fair trade with WC or Tigs. You’re overpaying if a trade goes through which is why it won’t.

I answered it
Rubbish you didnt answer the question i asked which was :
Does west coast have more of a chance to get Dean at #1 or #3

Your answer was 0% which is not an answer to a A or B question
But i think we all know what the answer would be and that is with #1 which would then make your argument redundant
