Does anyone know anything about Daniel Noi (unsure on spelling)? He's from Victoria and the Crows and Melbourne have spoken to him. He's dad is a former South Australian and is keen on him cooming to Adelaide.
Daniel Noy from the Eastern Ranges. I have seen him play three times so don't have the most informed opinion, but from what I have seen no, no and no!

Poor disposal, defensive skills are only adequate for someone who played as a third tall whenever I saw him. Light frame for 188cm and doesn't really make up for lack of size with any extra hardness. I wouldn't want to see us take him and from the limited amount that I have seen of him would be surprised if any club did.

Thanks for that :thumbsu:

He lives a few houses down from some of our friends in Melbourne and they mentioned him a couple of times on the weekend.

Lol, but your still talking about Luke Jericho. Go and throw that suggestion around on the Carlton board and see what reaction you get.

Who cares what Big Footy supporter think about a potential trade? No one ever agrees with anything anyway unless there side wins on that deal.

If Brett Ratten sees something in Luke Jericho, he will assess the situation and work out what he is worth. If the AFC are not happy with what he is offering a trade will not happen. FFS we are not going to get pick 3 for Meesen and Jericho, just as we will not accept a fifth round pick for either. But that is the extremes of offers from one side to the other on Big Footy.

When it comes around to talking about trade on Big Footy, it’s a bloody nightmare as no one want to be realist about what a player is worth or what they are willing to give up.

If we can get a draft pick between pick 20 and 30 for Luke Jericho we will be doing fine. We don’t want to just accept anything for him because it is a weak draft year any anything above pick 40 may hinder us rather than help us. If we were to gain Carlton 4th round pick at 52 we will have to use that and we may end up with something worse off. Delist and allow him to go in to PSD.

If we are gonna get nothing for him and the draft is so weak, we should keep him. Has been treated unfairly this year and last. Would rather see others delisted before him.

I doubt the number of quality ruckmen in this draft will affect the trade value of ruckmen like Meesen, as it is unlikely even Kreuzer will get much play for a couple years. Berger has been a big exception to the rule and even then, for all the huge excitement he has produced, he shouldn't be in the first 22. However, I would worry about the quantity of ruckmen up for trade may decrease Meese's. value

If Carlton take Kreuzer then I anticipate he will play about 5-8 games next year, similar to Leuenberger this year really. Leuey's development a year ago is pretty comparable to Kreuzer's now. Leuey has got games largely because of depleted ruck stocks (injury) at Brisbane, whereas I can already tell you that Kreuzer won't have as much competition for a spot even if Carlton do trade for a ruckman. With that said, I reckon Hampson might play more games than Kreuzer in 08 anyway.

Good point about the quantity of ruckmen decreasing Meesen's value. He might be the third or fourth best ruckman up for trade according to some whispers so yes, that would mean we get less value for him. It's the Andrew McDougall principle in reverse.

There are very few good ruckmen in this draft. Kreuzer, McEvoy and then distance............. Meeson will be in demand and there are few alternatives. Collingwood, WB, Richmond, St Kilda, Carlton etc will all be eager to pick up a player who looks like he can play.

The question is what we will get for him. Given the competition we may get more than we think, although a top 10 pick may be out of reach. Richmonds second and third picks for Meeson and our third or fourth round pick may be a suitable trade for a player with a few years of development. Picks 19 and 35 may get us a couple of decent young players and at least one midfielder ready to play next year.

I have Kreuzer, McEvoy and Bellchambers all going in the first two round and D.Simpson in the third along with others like Mulligan, Shaw, Renton and Sullivan who are a chance to go around that mark. This is actually considered to be a deep draft for ruckmen, but not much else.

As far as trade goes, I have heard some strong rumours that Charmanand a Geelong ruckman will be up for trade, plus a couple of whispers about Jolly and Seaby. I don't think ruckmen will have that great a value come trade time with all this considered.

Assuming Meesen ever becomes a good player, yes.

Geez, do we have to go through the potential/gamble/development argument again? In evaluating Meesen's trade value in 2007, it doesn't matter whether he comes good or not in the future. Its the probability of that happening combined with the maximum potential output.

To put that into a vaguely mathematical formula, you could pose the problem like this:

POTENTIAL x PROBABILITY

For whatever doubts there are about the probability of reaching Meesen reaching his potential, his potential as a third year ruckman is still priceless.

It's all a 100% gamble imo.
