Kenny is a solid player, and efficient in front of goals but he is certainly not indispensible.

I agree Bulldogs seem a likely trade partner. I'd prefer players involved in the trade rather than just picks by the sounds of this draft.

So...Cooney and Griffen out of Kenny's league, even with picks bundled in...would McMahon be worthwhile? Anyone else worth pursuing?

i'd be happy to trade kenny for mcmahon. yes, mcmahon is unaccountable and can be soft at times... but he's also very quick and a great ball carrier. we need someone like him more than a tall, loping forward like kenny.

mcmahon's also had a fairly poor year by his standards and has been talked of as trade bait by dogs supporters - so we might be able to have a straight mcswap. that would be pretty good value because mcmahon's two years younger than kenny and was a top ten draft pick in 2000.

I am not sure how the logistics would work in this trade but I wouldn’t mind seeing Kenny McGregor traded to the Western Bulldogs for Farren Ray, then we on-trade him to Fremantle for Byron Schammer.

Well, I'd take a 2nd rounder over Byron Schammer.

We have enough good nothing players like him.

But I'm sure we there are better South Australians available.

Easy to say you would take a second rounder over Schammer but would the Fremantle Dockers give up a second rounder? I doubt they would.

If there perception is correct that this year draft is going to low in talent, why would we be willing to take a risk on a second round player when we could have a ready made player.

Doesn't have to be Fremantle.

What I'm saying is, I'd just take the Bulldogs second rounder for McGregor, rather than McMahon/Ray who we ontrade to Schammer or whatever.

Not sure if McMahon really is what we need.

I would prefer to throw in a ruckman along with Kenny/Perrie & perhaps a swap of draft picks & land someone like Griffen. The Bulldogs have plenty of quaility mids, but really need some talls.

we might not need him right now, but what happens when we don't have torney and mcleod anymore? unfortunately that's not too far away from becoming reality.

I would definitely be interested in Mcmahon, I would also like to see Kenny traded, too slow, cant jump.
Is Shannon Hurn out of contract this year? If so i would consider working a trade for him using maybe Griffin and or others or draft picks if Meesen, stays but highly unlikely.

Shannon Hurn would be out of reach I'd say. Sam Butler would be a more realistic target, although it seems the eagles are definitely a team which are pretty reluctant to let go of young players.

What about Beau Waters?

Would love to get Beau Waters. Dont know his contract situation though.

Have heard Hurn may be out of contract. I would say Waters would be even less likely than Hurn. Would look at Sam Butler, depending on what we would have to give up

I'd take a Schammer over McGregor. KMac isn't worth nearly as much as what you think. He'd be probably late 2nd early 3rd rounder?

i'd love to get rhys palmer although i'm pretty sure he will be taken before our first pick, I've seen him a bit in the WAFL and he looks all class, unbelievably fit aswell

Griffen would be my target. Had a down year before his knee injury, so his stocks and value would be lower than the year before.

At his best he is an outstanding player across HB, capable of playing in the mid-field.

I like your suggestion, Kane. :)

3 lines, and I disagree with all 3 :)

I'd take schammer in a heartbeat.

Schammer would be worth looking at. What would his value be now? A 3rd rounder?

don't we have enought HBF's ?

Griffen is going to be a sensational midfielder and his cost would never be lower than it currently is. I'd be all over any deal to get this done, would add a real touch of class to elevate our future midfield to a premiership worthy one.

In all honesty the thought of Griffen fit next year is the only thing keeping people signing their membership forms:o. I'd say he's about as untouchable as it gets at the doggies. His value hasn't dropped a cent.

Anyway on to McMahon, i think his record speaks for itself. His first month of footy this season was fantastic averaging 26 disposals off the half back and really created run(actually averaged 19 disposals over the past 3 years). Then the team fell over and so did his form and then he got injured for a week and he never got over it....rumours are his g/f and kid moved back to Adelaide and this contributed to his lack of confidence. Anyway, it looks like he wants to move home to be with them.

This is a realistic trade option. Was originally pick #10 in the draft and you will get another 150+games out of him and he just turned 24 and has 113 games under his belt. I don't want to see him go, but the chances are he will be on the Crows or Powers list next year.

Maybe he'd allow us to send Johncock forward.

Although this role I would really like filled by Darren Pfeiffer.

Sounds like a PSD option to me.:o
