I really like Mitch Farmer and someone mentioned on here a few weeks ago that the Crows were considering him last year. Personally, I'd love to see him on our list. He has very good rebounding skills but is also good in the air for a guy standing 179cm. I'm certainly not making this comparison skill wise, but the role he plays would make him a handy replacement for Andrew McLeod in the next few years.
If we want him we'd probably need to use the third rounder on him. Now that you mention him, I'd be more than happy for the Crows to part with a third rounder for him. He was very impressive at the Championships and I can't believe he didn't get named All-Australian.

Yep the rumour was we were keen ....

He impresses me tremendously ....never panics under pressure and his skills are very comparable with the best that you have mentioned.

Any idea on his tank and ability to go midfield? ......I can't believe though he would be a third round pick ....has to be a minimum second round IMO ...the quality aint that great ....but I would admit that clubs would show preference to 179cm players with a bit more toe

But it's those type of assessments that delivered Richard Douglas to us even after I could not find one negative comment written about him other than his weight?

Jesse Aish with a third rounder may be an option aswell considering the supposed lack of depth in the draft.

Midfielders with the first pick, Walker with a late pick and the best available for anything in between I reckon.

Seems to me, there are a few experts around so i'll leave all the 'names' to them.
Aish has a good surname but I have seen him a few times at the Redlegs. I don't see him as AFL material? Drummond might shed some views on him.

He struggled a bit to handle the pressure when he was a bit younger but has really put all his focus into it this year and improved in leaps and bounds. Has some good skills about him and is a decent mark. For a third rounder we could do a lot worse.

Why a third rounder? with the bidding system we could get him for pick 80.

And I agree thou, as we have a good history with mature agers (Porplyzia, Gill, Campbell, Hudson etc)

If, according to the Sunday Mail, we put McGregor and Perrie on the market, what does everyone think they will attract?

Perrie may get a pack of crisps but what would McGregor get, especially if he was bundled with Meesen (fingers crossed he is staying:thumbsu:)

I think Perrie will retire. Seems to me (from afar) like he's had enough.

McGregor would be be a very attractive proposition for someone like the Bulldogs I would've thought.

Cause we all know our friends down the road will try and play some games with this new system. But hey pick 80 would be even better! :thumbsu:

Meesen and McGregor to Carlton for their 1st pick (not the priority one). Would mean we'd get pick 3 in the draft. Carlton need a CHB and Ruckman. Would that be attractive to both clubs?

I guess next year there will be enough depth in our side, without the need for Kenny. Think Kenny would be a real attractive prospect for alot of Victorian teams, Carlton, Richmond , Melbourne all need a KPP. I think we would get a 2/3 rounder for him.

I think Kenny deserves to be playing regular footy. He's obviously out of favour and next year with Sellar, Walker and Tips all likely to debut, along with what I'm hoping is a succesful return from Trent there's a lack of spots up there.

Add that to Burton, Welsh and Gill, it's going to be mighty bloody hard to get a game, especially when we'll more than likely look to the future.

From VinnieVegas69 on the D&T Board on Bidding for F/S

Teams bid, and then the team decides if they want to pick up the player with their first pick after the highest bid - Not the closest pick, but the first one after the winning bid.

e.g. Team A bids Pick #7 for a player, Team B has picks #6 and #22 - Team B only has to use Pick #22 to get the player. However, if Team C bids Pick #5, then Team B has to use Pick #6.

I posted on another thread that I was told last night at the game that given fair value for him Kenny will be up for a trade at year end.

The person who told me this is generally pretty close to the mark with his info.

KG almost blurted this out last night on 5AA but said enough to confirm what I was told.

Personally I'd rather keep him, because he can take a contested mark, but you are right, bus, he deserves to be playing AFL every week and we're not giving him that.

If Kenny is traded, then the Bullies look a logical choice. They have South Aussies to trade back and are desperate for forward talls.

Kenny is a solid player, and efficient in front of goals but he is certainly not indispensible.

I agree Bulldogs seem a likely trade partner. I'd prefer players involved in the trade rather than just picks by the sounds of this draft.

So...Cooney and Griffen out of Kenny's league, even with picks bundled in...would McMahon be worthwhile? Anyone else worth pursuing?

Also wondering what the thoughts were regarding our rookies? Who should be upgraded, kept on rookie list, or let go?

With Aish and Walker potentially in the mix for low picks, plus potential rookie upgrades, and maybe a trade or two (at maximum), on top of our first 2-3 picks in draft, it could mean we see more new faces than expected in 08??

I'd simply be looking simply just to swap our 2nd rounders.

However, if Meesens on the table too, then we could package them for something quite nice. :)

surprise, surprise, surprise! ......well not really as blind freddy could see that a mile away.

He's not getting games cause he's not good enough ....that's it !

And no Bulldogs won't be in the market for him as IMO their thoughts on Kenny would be the same as ours .......just look at their drafting last year ...they took Everitt a tall but quick defender, and even McDougal is quickish ....slow talls will not geta gig at that club.

Not sure witch club but I'm sure Kenny has currency in the trade market ....particularly in a weak draft ......

Is worth in this draft a late first rounder / early second round draft pick .......his best chance to play regular AFL is to ask for a trade

We will only get a 2nd rounder for Meesen ....so again we'll be on the bad end of any trade IF he wants to go.

The club should move heaven and Earth to have him stay ....he'll be a player Iam now convinced!

i think Aish is not up to it but his barrow certainly has been pushed by some in the media.

IMO at best he would be no more than another in our too long list of servicable players

PS I don't want to trade McGregor at all and I am struggling to understand why we are treating him the way we are at the moment.

Everyone wants to develop our young talls ie Sellar, Tippett, Griffin, Maric, Meesen, but very few are prepared to say goodbye to any players. Plus we have Hentschel coming back and may even gain another forward in draft ie Walker.

IMO Perrie retire/delist end of 2007
McGregor I would try to trade. Otherwise retain on list for depth but no longer in starting 22. I'm all for the new breed. KMac certainly slowing down. But still a valuable replacement for injuries.
Biglands trade/delist (still has one more year on contract though).

Need to make tough decisions to make way for new breed of KPP
