Ogilvy has enough credits in the bank to make his own call... i like the highlighs package... feels like dangerfield all over again... minus the going home part and the part where he stays in school.
Yea I agree, the highlights package looks good......looks like he could be a smooth strong marking midfielder in the future. Atleast I hope anyway

And pretty much everyone who has picked since then has gone against the script.

In other words, the top 12-14 players were fairly well known. After that, there is/was a whole lot more uncertainty, with some clubs rating players vastly differently to how other clubs rated them.
Not really
Eg Emma Quayle:
16 .Ryan Burton went at 19
17. Darcy Tucker went at 27
18. Ben Keays went at 24
19. Mitchell Hibberd went at 33
20. Jade Gresham went at 18
21. Harry Himmelberg went at 16
22. Harley Balic went at 38
23. Kieran Collins went at 26
24. David Cuningham went at 23

Tucker, Hibberd, Balic slipped, the rest were close. And also
"AND THE REST...
Riley Bonner went at 37
Alex Morgan went at 29
Sam Skinner went at 47
Josh Dunkley went at 25
Fiorini went at 20
Ben McKay went at 21
Cole went at 36
Ryan Clarke went at 31
Mason Redman went at 30
Brandon White went at 40
Declan Mountford went at 60
And
Port Adelaide: Aidyn Johnson's run and carry puts him in the mix for the Power's first pick at 32 (Instead they got him at 45), as does Brandon White's pace and attack on the ball (Saints took him at 40)

Other
Tasmanians Kieran Lovell (midfielder) nope Lovell went at 22. and Ryan Garder (defender) may make it to Geelong - (on the money)

Out of the top 30 she only missed out on naming Partington (a bad oversight IMO)

Expect to see a bit of this type of coverage:
LOSERS
Adelaide

By all reports Tom Doedee has the potential to be a good AFL player despite some injuries and position shuffling in recent years, but the Crows may have reached by selecting him with their second pick of the draft at No.17. Adelaide didn't have any picks in the 30s or 40s, where they likely would have been able to pick Doedee, so they must have really liked the defender to take him so high.

Think this is harsh though:
Loser
Essendon

Midfield was a definite position of need for the Bombers, but did they make the right choice selecting Darcy Parish and Aaron Francis with No.4 and No.5? By picking up the two midfielders Essendon left forward prospect Sam Weideman for their rivals instead of selecting him to partner Joe Daniher. While Essendon certainly underperformed in 2015 and need that help in the centre and aren't exactly about to leap into the top four, they've still got a decent amount of talent and may not have picks as high as No.4 and No.5 in the coming years. Mitch Brown might be a good stopgap, but without high selections it's very hard to find good talls who will last.

Francis and Parish are very different types

The writer had Richmond as winners because they select Rioli however he ignores that we selected Milera

How Geelong is not listed as a draft loser beats me

Should have used 13 to get back into next years second round - no way anyone can justify picking this lad with 13 just because that was the pick we had.
And you know this, how? You have no idea how any of the other clubs ranked him. Adelaide obviously rated him very highly.

In any case, I strongly suspect that Adelaide hoped to use #13 on one of the players who went earlier. I'm guessing that Doedee was behind the likes of McKay & Francis in the pecking order. He was obviously ahead of other board favourites though, like Burton & Collins.

Hard to see who we thought we missed at 13 - everyone went as expected. We should have traded 13 for a second rounder this year and next year from an Essendon or Saints etc. then we would be back in next years second round plus still got this lad. Trust Oglivy that he will be good but we wasted a heap of value in that pick - no question

What evidence do you have he wouldn't have been taken at the next pick, Leversloane?

One thing is certain - we rated Doedee higher than Burton than Collins.

C

milera is an exceptional kick

His highlights packages dispute that assertion, and if he has a whole catalogue of better kicks not in the videos, the people who compiled the videos need to do some research on what highlights means.

Looks to be a pretty standard kick on a good day, soft and loopy at 40m+, and not particularly accurate at the shorter stuff.

Every year they call a club a loser who turns out their picks turn into match winners and pick a club as Winners and they end up massive duds.

At first I was super pissed I was like Who?? Wtf?? Why?? But now I just gotta trust we made the right call our drafting the past 5 years has been really spot on.

Your first sentence is just wrong. Your second sentence makes no sense at all. Could you please translate that second sentence into grammatical English?......if you can!

I'll break it down for you as best I can, I am but a simple soul.

In 2014 Lyons played 10 games and had a disposal efficiency of 61.7%
In 2015 Lyons played 13 games and had a disposal efficiency of 63.5%

The previous poster to my comment stated that Lyons was a good kick of the football. For Lyons to be both a good kick of the football and have such a lousy disposal efficiency he would have to stuff up every hand pass he ever makes.

I will edit the 2nd sentence to correct the typo that you so graciously drew my attention to, and hopefully in doing so, adjust the sentence to your satisfaction.

how the **** do you pick winners and losers the very same night of the draft?

bloody hell somethings just need to **** off, and winners/losers articles before the players have even gone to their new clubs is high on the list.

while i do believe eventually francis will become a big bodied midfielder, right now he's a third tall. people who clearly don't watch the players shouldn't write about them with a sense of authority.

Will be interesting to see if clubs who made bids for Academy players have a crack at them in a few years time at the trade table. Let's keep an eye on Himmelberg at the Giants over the next 12 months.

Can someone give me a summary of peoples feelings about the draft. I had to work a 16 hour day today and didn't get to follow any of it.

Who did the best (based on the picks they had)?

Who did the worst?

Whats the consensus on Doedee?

What are the filth saying?
