Why do people continuously believe friends play an important part of where a player goes. Especially someone in Ben Jarmans case where he'd probably know most of the boys already.

A lot of people in the heat of the moment saying why didn't we trade pick 13 and pick him up later.

The obvious answer is he wasn't our first target at that pick. Whoever we wanted (Francis probably) was obviously already gone.

This clearly isn't a pick that fits the "best available" myth. We obviously have a role for him that he suits better than anyone else so he was next on our list to fill it

It's out of the box and left field. Classic Adelaide. Let's hope he turns out to be an Obahn and not a southern expressway

Hard to see who we thought we missed at 13 - everyone went as expected. We should have traded 13 for a second rounder this year and next year from an Essendon or Saints etc. then we would be back in next years second round plus still got this lad. Trust Oglivy that he will be good but we wasted a heap of value in that pick - no question

Likely a reason is the Crows were hoping for one of the ones who went before our picks hence needing pick 13.

Yeah, it's either that, or we knew other teams also rated Doedee highly (I think this is kind of unlikely, given that literally none of the reasonably well informed draft experts picked him anywhere near this early - usually someone like Quayle or Twomey have some idea that a guy is being seriously targeted) or we simply couldn't get a more favourable deal to happen during trade week that would allow to still draft Doedee later on, but improve our position otherwise, potentially as a result of all the academy points trades.

Maybe Milera will turn out fine, I'm just saying his highlights packages clearly indicate kicking is not one of his strengths, which is disappointing given where the game is currently at.

I fail to see how anyone could be questioned for being less than pleased with what happened to our second pick, it's really hard to grasp any positives out of a massively left field selection, that we spent a great deal on, when he has such a thin profile.

milera is an exceptional kick

This would have required us to delist another (contracted) player. They couldn't even get that done in order to promote R'OB to the senior list. I doubt they even considered the possibility for a 2nd round pick in a weak draft like this one.

Should have used 13 to get back into next years second round - no way anyone can justify picking this lad with 13 just because that was the pick we had.
