Running key defender who could swing forward. Not a forward at the next level for mine. Athletic as ****. Given his body type for mine he'd be a third tall and not a key defender - needs two pre seasons.

I'd ******* love it if we signed him. Would be like Christmas has come early.

But it's all bollocks anyway. Have two good sources that indicate he's not going to give up cricket. I believe he'll stay in Victoria and try and get another chance through grade cricket dominance but that I have no word on. Might move interstate for cricket but my sources suggest cricket is very much his focus still. Unless something's changed over the last two weeks as I raised the question only two weeks ago.

And yeah, these are good sources. Very good ones.

I have enormous respect for your knowledge Skippos, but Keath is actually already in Adelaide playing with Prospect in the hope of a red backs contract. I believe if he doesn't get offered a deal, he will join us on a Cat B deal.

Yeah it's already been addressed. When I made that post I was had different information. Suspect because he was o/s my sources who know him were a little behind the times. Ah well.

Knew he was in talks with prospect but he's signed on now, has he? Interesting. Bar that English bloke they bring out every season, Whiteley, they're a truly terrible club. Will be interesting to see how he goes, there. Cash must have been the only reason tbh.

Or by comparison to his teammates, he'll look like an out and out superstar.

I like the sound of Kieren Agius, sounds very similar to Atkins route to the draft, excellent height and speed if he could eventually go through the midfield, late pick/rookie chance Skippos?

I'm guessing he has signed on with Prospect, but I do know he is already training with them.

Never mind, you can't get them all spot on Skippos, even if you are generally on the money!

rarely works for new south welshmen playing for the redbacks... and the list of ex-redbacks to get selected after moving interstate is a few pages long

I'd settle for "our" picks in your updated mock draft right now, Darcy Tucker with our first, Sam Skinner with our second and Michael Hartley with our third!

As you know I really rate Tucker, I see a lot of Brodie Smith in him, but it's Sam Skinner that intrigues me, don't know a lot about him but looking at his profile and pics he is one big, solid unit, could you fill us in a bit more about him. I also see Michael Hartley as a big upgrade on Hartigan personally, especially in composure and decision making. I'd really love us to give Tom Templeton a go with a rookie pick too, seen a bit of him and he really impresses me, hard nosed mid with a good skillset and better than average pace....thought he was a bit unlucky last year to not get a rookie spot and he's improved further this year IMO.

"The PDCC is happy to announce the signing of 23 year old former Victorian all-rounder and Australia U/19 representative, Alex Keath. Alex is a supremely talented Athlete, and despite numerous AFL clubs seeking his services, he has decided to pursue his cricket ambitions here in South Australia. He is currently dominating the competition in the Birmingham League Premier Division in the UK.
Welcome to the PDCC Community Alex!"

The bolded part is interesting, has there been any word from the club about rookie listing him?

Wayne Milera with 5 goals for Centrals today against the men looks a pretty decent prospect, might be an option if still around for our 2nd pick..

He definitely won't be around at pick 30, IMO. Too good to drop that far.

If we have to downgrade our 1st, he'd be a great pickup with 15-odd.

Skippos I am confused on Ryan Burton

The kid had a broken leg which is some consider worse than an ACL these days & hasn't played for 18 months ......he's also a Darling height

How is it that he is still being mentioned in Phatom Drafts as a first round pick ......it seems to me with all that against you Burton would be a clubs 2nd round preference, given the risk

I've seen skinner couple of times , the thing that stands out is elite competitiveness - he hates losing a contest which is a great trait

V versatile but his best position for mine is key defender , I think he's 197cm which is something we don't have as KPD

My concern is his speed/agility , if there was one guy who couldn't afford an ACL I'd say it was him.......given this id see him as a 3rd round pick at earliest but I like him in any case

The more guys we get with sloane / lever like competitive traits the better

Darling goes top 5-10 if not for his attitude.

Burton has a lot going in his favour. Also worth noting that he was 191 last year. Every chance he's grown. He's a top 5 pick if not for the leg IMO. late first is worth half a top 5 pick. So you're really paying half already for him at a late first, that's the extent his value's been hit.

Don't get me wrong, I certainly agree with some of the knocks. But you don't win premierships by being conservative. Gotta take risks and target potential elites. That's Burton.

The Crows have a vast number of midfielders whose specialties lie on the inside of contests, but it's the outside where they'd like to boost their depth. The emergence of Riley Knight and Rory Atkins is pleasing, but the poor form of David Mackay only highlights the need to find outside speed. They also need to add players who possess elite skills. Adelaide's disposal efficiency has been amongst the lowest in the competition this season and while coaching can help improve the side, natural skill is needed. Key stocks are another area requiring improvement, but given the club's recent 2013 draft sanctions it's unlikely the club would give up early picks. - Harry Thring

First selection: Pick 11-14

Cal Twomey says: Having lost some key forwards in recent seasons and added tall defender Jake Lever through last year's draft, the Crows might look to boost their forward line. Harry McKay would be an obvious target at about their draft range, as would Sam Weideman, while Charlie Curnow would have to be considered if he was still available.

This will make a great banner:

Darcy Tucker is a bad ass ______ ______

Well, it will make a great banner for the ten seconds prior to me being evicted anyway

He was always going to give cricket one last crack and then only play football if it didn't pan out. I believe he was a 2017 target for us, which is one thing that PO'd a lot of people because by the time he'd be starting training to play footy he'd be 25 already.

Ever since I saw a couple of his games last year I've been on the "Tucker" train, started a bit slowly this season but the latter half of the year he's killing it again, top end speed, composure, excellent foot skills, what's not to like??

Also like another local over ager with a rookie pick Tom Templeton, thought he was very stiff not to get at least a rookie spot on an AFL list last year and he's going even better this year, good speed, neat skills and really hard at it.

Jacob Hopper goes "alright" too but you know the story there...

The lad I liked a lot last year Liam Duggan was showing plenty for the WC Eagles at AFL level in his first season until his untimely injury.

St. Pats the home of future AFL stars.....:fire:

seeing a few good ones there bicks............would be nice to have a player that you don't need to teach how to be damaging on the outside

how is his tackling and one on one work in marking contests?

Ah Chee is such a sheer talent he would be tough to knock back and bonner at 191 cm+ with best kick in the draft and able to play hb/mid is another need..................
one should make it to us !

NORTH Ballarat Rebels are one step from reaching a TAC Cup under-18 grand final at Etihad Stadium.

The Rebels had to beat Geelong Falcons – one of only two teams that got the better of them this season, and the Falcons did so twice.

Remarkably, the Rebels fought back from six goals down, half-way through the second quarter, to claim a two-goal win in a qualifying final at Carlton’s Princes Park on Saturday.

Early play was all about the Falcons’ prowess, physical presence and skill.

The Rebels grit out the second quarter, but failed to make any in-roads on buffer the Falcons held until a huge second half.

They looked hungry. They looked excited. They genuinely looked liked they believed they could win this game. The match was two goals in the Falcons’ favour by three-quarter-time, flattered by a Falcon kick on the siren.

The Falcons booted the opening goal of the fourth quarter to push the margin to three. Then the Rebels hit hard.

While the Rebels clawed back within six points quickly and early in the fourth they desperately peppered the goal face for a string of five behinds until finally, clever play and a Connor Byrne kick snatched the lead.

The Falcons then chipped back with behinds but the Rebels defence, led by Billy Lloyd, was ruthless and the best the Falcons could manage was to level scores.

Jacob Hopper, holding strong in the goal square, made a snap to regain the Rebels’ lead and Jacob Wheelahan booted the sealer.

Rebels coach David Loader spoke a lot about belief with his players at each break. Belief has been a key Rebels’ theme this season. Loader said it helped take the team to a minor premiership.

“Our message to the boys was really simple,” Loader said. “We didn’t get complicated talking about all little things because right from the start of the season, we’ve felt this group knows what it has to do and the plans to follow. We just reiterated they had to keep believing.”

The Rebels have reached their first TAC Cup preliminary final since 2012. They also finished atop the ladder that season and scraped through a tight qualifying final but were thoroughly beaten in the preliminary final. Rebels coach David Loader said that season, players took a break in the week between, this time he wants Rebels to keep routine and focus.
