Absolutely ridiculous.

Club has royally stuffed up here. If Doedee was such a target, we needed to trade pick 13 for a later pick and a player. There's no way any other club would have taken him in the top 30. Just an absolute ballsup.

In addition to the above, we clearly should have bid on Kennedy at pick 11. This would have cost GWS more than what they ended up paying for him, which would have reduced the chances of them matching the Himmelberg bid.

A disaster. There's still hope that Doedee turns into a great player for us, but he clearly doesn't address anything mbling a need, and he clearly would have been available 15-20 picks later. Fail.

Rather than doing a full lindy ......why don't you research the lad first

A lot of people in the heat of the moment saying why didn't we trade pick 13 and pick him up later.

The obvious answer is he wasn't our first target at that pick. Whoever we wanted (Francis probably) was obviously already gone.

This clearly isn't a pick that fits the "best available" myth. We obviously have a role for him that he suits better than anyone else so he was next on our list to fill it

It's out of the box and left field. Classic Adelaide. Let's hope he turns out to be an Obahn and not a southern expressway

His interview says that the coaches had no idea where to play him, so they played him at half-back.

Just because he did a good job shutting down opponents there, doesn't mean that he doesn't have other strengths that can't be exploited at AFL level.

At his height, and given the players we already have in our defence, I'm betting they see him as a potential midfielder. 2x midfielders would make me very happy.

Trade pick 13 for what? We wanted Milera - got him - we only had one other pick.

What does it matter if we used our last pick at 13 or 60?

I'd understand the anger if we had a third pick later on, but we didn't.

Just a thought but could have traded pick 13 for a clubs 1st round next year plus their 2nd round this year.
Something along those lines wouldn't be impossible.
