Jacob Allison (Brisbane academy) can play multiple positions but might be best suited to a wing. While he hasn't made a big leap in improvement from his U17 to U18 year, I still rate him highly and think he has great potential. Not many can do what he does at his height.

Oliver Florent from Sandringham is a nice outside mid who uses his pace, gets plenty of the ball and doesn't mind getting forward to impact the scoreboard.

Josh Williams (GC academy) is a pure outside mid. Very fast and a great size at 189cm. The one you're most likely to see streaming down the ground with ball in hand.

Alex Villis from SA will get the majority of his touches on the outside and has great foot skills and looks like a naturally smart footballer.

Steve Slimming from SA is a pretty good outside mid prospect who can also be used at half back. Gets involved enough and would probably do well in the 'metres gained' stat but isn't a great kick.

Taylin Duman from Oakleigh, I prefer on a wing compared to down back. Another one with great height at 193cm. Does a lot of things well but nothing jumps out as elite yet.

Others you could also have a look at are Isaac Cumming (NSW), Quinton Narkle (WA) and Judah Dundon (Western Jets). And if you wanted to put Andrew McGrath (Sandringham Dragons) in this category, he would definitely top this list. He could certainly provide a great contribution as an outside mid but is primarily a running defender and can also play inside.

Quinton Narkle is a inside mid, he never plays in a outside position ?

I see him as someone who could do both very well. In the championships I thought he did most of his damage on the outside using his run. He had 1 big 15 contested possession game but the rest were no higher than 6. I also think that if he gets to the next level he will be used outside just as much as inside. Just my opinion.

He can play in or iut but is such a good ball winner generally in. Has pace and great awareness . Has come from the clouds somewhat to get this invite built from great colts club form
good championship . Outstanding young man which helps

Additionally he got average time on . He is apparently a cousin of SPP another kid going well

If you had watched these threads last year i mentioned him quite a bit, as i have seen him play lots.
He has rarely if ever in the last two years played outside.
Also his kicking lets him down to be a outside threat.

He is going to be drafted absolute certainty , invite to combine ahead of some AFL Academy boys big indicator .

Royal eagle - SPP league debut tomorrow and my sources say West Coadt pushed it . Not a throw away game either with finals around corner and Peel and East Perth 4 and 5 on table .

didn't watch the game but his stats suggested he had a good game.

Nice work DraftMe - with Blues locked in with Pick #4, how do you see the Top 4/5 playing out - Setterfield/Sheer excluded?

Would love Brodie or McCluggage to slip but can't see it. Would say SPS to Freo but have the feeling Lions Dons or Freo could pull out a surprise with young Marshall. Otherwise, is Ainsworth/McGrath worth 4?

Thank you. I think Essendon should take Will Brodie at 1. The others they should strongly consider are McCluggage, Petrevski-Seton and Marshall. I agree with you and wouldn't be surprised if the Bombers went with Marshall here. While he has a lot of development to do, he does things not many tall forwards can.

At 2, I think it's most likely Brisbane take whichever one of Brodie and McCluggage is still there. I can't see them taking Marshall having adding Schache, Hipwood and will add Ballenden next year. I'd consider them a good chance to bid on Jack Bowes here too.

At 3, if Brodie and McCluggage are off the board, I think Fremantle decide between Petrevski-Seton and Todd Marshall. McGrath may come into consideration and even Ainsworth if Ballantyne leaves.

So at Carlton's pick 4 I would take Petrevski-Seton if still on the board. He's so good with the ball in hand and would add a new dimension to Carlton's midfield. They may think Marshall is too good to pass up (even after taking McKay, Curnow & Silvagni last year) if he makes it through. I do think McGrath or Ainsworth would be worth it, because they can both have big impacts on games. McGrath's performances post-championships have been a little quieter than his earlier games. It will be interesting to see if he can have a strong finish to the year, it gets pretty tough for the guys who have played so many games across a few different teams.

No chance the Lions take Marshall. We will select 1 of Brodie/McCluggage/SPS/Ainsworth.

Brisbane have quite a few inside midfielders already on the list with Rocky Zorko Beams and Robinson with Bell and Jansen also capable wouldn't think the Lions would be that interested in Brodie
Edit: also forgot to add Mathieson and Keays
In the Lions position, I really think they should just take the best available player and that could easily be Will Brodie. He's a better prospect than Keays and Mathieson and could certainly end up being the no.1 midfielder on an AFL list in the future, so I think they'd be silly to pass him up.

If McCluggage goes at no.1, who would you want Brisbane to take?

i think brisbane would be happy with anyone of in order McGluggage, Brodie, Petrevski-Seton, McGarath or Ainsworth with their first pick.

who do you think brisbane should look at with their picks 20 & 28 (currently)? i like the looks of Fisher, Bolton, Simpkin, Drew and Berry who may be available around those picks. providing the academy boys are not bid on before then.

SPS seems like the best fit for Brisbane best of all he's a Lions supporter

Given Fremantle's situation I would be happy to trade our first pick for any 2 of Battle, Rotham, English, Kerr, Berry etc. what do you think?

Otherwise I can also get pretty excited at the prospect of SPS or Marshal getting around in purple. Generally it feels like a decent draft to have late picks in in our situation where we will be turning over quite a few role players.

I like all of those players you named for Brisbane too because they are all types who like to deliver the ball inside 50 (a category Brisbane rank 16th in this season). I'd add Gallucci and Scharenberg to the names you listed as players to consider in that 20-30 range and ideally they get out of it a classy ball user who can provide constant delivery to their big forwards.

There's a few state combine invitees there you have in the 50's and 60's that i'm a big fan of in Korewha and particularly Slimming. Strangely neither of them were taken in the BF trial run.
I'd be surprised if they were both ignored come November.

It would be a nice haul to come out with 2 of those you mentioned but I think getting Todd Marshall could be the best thing for Freo. It's always good to lock in a future no.1 forward target and he is the best one in this draft class.
any updates/analysis of Liam Ryan and Cedric Cox? cheers
Can't give you anything on Liam Ryan, I don't watch much state league football, mainly the U18s.

As for Cedric Cox, can't give you a great analysis either. Only the 7 recent TAC Cup games. Had an impressive VFL debut with 15 disposals and returned to the Rebels with a 24 disposal game. Reports are that he is an exciting and athletic half back flanker and outside mid who is a nice user of the ball. It's not easy to get to many North Ballarat games so I'm looking forward to seeing him more in the finals.

I do like the depth of this draft class. Of the two guys you mentioned I think Slimming is the better draft chance. He wins enough of the ball, provides good run on the outside but his kicking can let him down. And I still don't know if Korewha will be able to transition that well to the AFL but I guess time will tell.

There could be a nice amount of good pick ups for clubs in the 2nd half of this year's draft.
