1. Marc Murphy
2. Xavier Ellis
10. Marcus Drum
18. Andrew Swallow
21. Josh Kennedy

This would obviously have some trades to get it like this it would be good though to have this first round and early 2nd round. There would also be more draft picks after this. thoughts

4 top 20 picks is a minimum
also a second round 3 pick so we can use one on a father son (if any available)

I totally agree mate. This is a MUST! We need plenty of early picks and an Murphy/Ellis combo first up would be the future of our Club. Drum ready to play next year, maybe Swallow and Kennedy also. Would love Nathan Jones if available at some stage but sounds like will go early.

we wont be getting pick 1 and 2.. because either we will beat collingwood and get picks 2,5 or we will lose the rest of games and get pick 1,3

We will probably go after midfielders early by what Ive heard and read. Is this what we should do? Forget Murphy & Ellis, who are the enxt best midfielders available and who whould suit the Blues in 2006 and beyond?

Not sure Kooley, hopefully not but I was just wondering who else is out there. Often very little seperates the top 10-15 draftees. Ive heard Nathan Jones, Andrew Swallow and Jace Bode are good, anyone have info on these guys and others?

I saw Nathan Jones play in the National Under 18 Championships and he was super impressive. Big, strong, tough midfielder with plenty of aggro in him. Will probably get over lookeked in round 1 because of his apparent lack of pace but his toughness is exactly what we need at Carlton. Another kid who impressed was Ben McKinnley from the Northern Knights. Very smart utility. Could be picked up with a 3rd rounder.

did you see Hurn, Ellis and Murphy play? Who would you want with our picks 1 & 3 at this stage?

If we could take Murphy with our No.1 pick I would be happy with that. He is an excellent player but mentally he is strong as well. In the mould of Luke Ball. Beau Dowler didn't set the world on fire in the Championships but i think he made all-Australian. He is the best KP player in the draft and as long term prospect he would be great. Moves very well for a big lad and has a great set of hands. Whether we use our other pick on a KP or midfielder would depend on who we trade or delist at the end of the year. Can't really comment on Hurn or Ellis.

Has Murphy decided not to go Father and Son?
he has not made any decision as yet, he is waiting till the season is over and then he and his father will talk to managers and to clubs.

if he does decide to go it will make our decision easier.

Could he play seniors next year? What about Hurn, Ellis, Swallow and Jones?

Of those 4, hurn and jones will step up straight into the team while ellis and swallow are development players especially ellis is a lot like russell and walker

3 top 10 picks
- M.Murphy: midfielder who is a class act, likened to Luke Ball
- P.Ryder: 194cm and growing KPP/ruckman. likened to Goodes
- N.Jones: inside midfielder likened to Jason Johnson (big body)

picks 10 - 30 (out of)
- A.Lucy: 193cm genuine key defender. by all reports can really play.
- T.Redden: 190cm midfielder/utility (could he be another Embley, Waite?)
- H.Hocking: inside tough nut (big body)
- W.Mills: 196cm key defender who is big and strong
- A.Carlile: 191cm genuine key defender, versatile, quick, good footy brain, tough, skillful and agile.

untried yet
- J.Crow: 197cm/95kg key defender and ruckman from the Bullants
- M.Priddis: tallish left-foot midfielder from Subiaco

Do you people want Whitnall, Lappin and Camporeale traded?
