Sorry to intrude but just wanted to say it's been great seeing the big Dish go around again this year.
Especially since he has played so well.

Assuming Lycett's year is done, he's got 4 games (and finals?) to have a swan song to his career.

If only he was younger he would be a handy back up to Nic Nat :)

If he were younger i dont think wed have snaffled him off you.

he's bee denied opportunity by simmo playing his mate would of liked him to have been found out one way or another this year now its a great unknown
He played last year when year when required.

Fraser certainly goes when it is his time, however lacks the skill, composure and tank that Drew possesses.

That young, Stefan Martin would've had a big influence if not for Petrie today.

Perhaps this anger is more directed at Simmo than Drew, given the North connection.

got smashed in the ruck today by a younging cant play the role he was recruited for tries his hardest which is pathetic takes the spot of a young guy preventing their development cant wait til he goes we will be a stronger club for it
Please enlighten us as to who you have in mind as we don't know what the situation will be with Nic and Lycett next year, as particularly in Nic's case big men coming back from an ACL take time to find their mojo.

That's decent for a 34 year old. Putting my fat, lazy 28 year old self to shame. Add in the dive to save the goal- he was excellent today.

IMO- if we can keep him on the rookie list, he's done enough to earn another year. He's been excellent cover.

some people just love the mediocre i want us to win flags petrie will never be part of that. he reminds me of ellis getting a game ahead of others because he is simmos mate

Petrie has been a credit to himself this year, he could easily have come over for a nice holiday to finish his career but he goes in as hard as anybody and plays with a passion too few on our list do.

The fanbase (bar one or two apparently) have embraced him completely. An absolute legend.

I like Mcinnis and i think he is a trier but for a big bloke, i don't think he uses his size well on players his size or bigger. He can bully smaller opponents. Petrie more than holds his own against bigger opponents and that in turns helps our mids.

At the very least (if he decides not to play on) would love to see him stay in the West and take on a development role of some kind. He has plenty of knowledge and also a big heart to pass onto the youngsters coming through as to what is required to play at AFL level.

From what I've seen, he has completely turned all of us around bar one.

Blokes heart is insanely big. Lots of praise for Drew.

but his potential is the unknown petries is and its pretty pathetic, at the pub today we had a drinking game every time petrie stuffed up or was just hopeless, lets just say im glad i wasnt driving.
oh i dont like simmo gifting games to his mates let them earn it on form petrie hasnt had to do that once

he said he won't go into coaching but the fact that he moved his whole family for one year might mean that he might stick around in Perth for a bit. That means he might still be involved in footy in one way or another. He has a great personality and could move into the commentary box. He could also work with a WAFL club as well.

It's great to see.
He got shit on a bit by the North board last year due to indifferent form.

We all want to win flags.

But you don't do it by playing McInnes, who probably is only still on our list because of his family connections to the club.

Absolute legend Petrie ...no coincidence that Jack darling has improved and likely learnt quite a bit playing alongside Drew Petrie .

This trade has been good in many ways .

not at all never been impressed by petrie yes he tries but his efforts are always found wanting takes a team mate to save his ass repeatedly. we are the only team that would play him, how many years have the roos tried to replace him they even recruited another old man to do it.
oh you do realise that saying someone else post is shit automatically makes yours shit, we all have our own opinions i just dont like mediocre senior players taking the place of youth, petrie epitomizes everything wrong with our squad
Not all youth have the skills to play at AFL level, and not all older players have to be put out to pasture. As long as Drew is not taking the place of somebody who is playing better in the position that he has been selected to play, then it doesn't matter what age Drew is, as long as he's playing his part.

Mcinnis isn't as strong in contests against guys his size or bigger. He is a decent chop out but he would have been killed by martin today. Martin got a ton of hit outs but his hitouts were average and his trade mark around the ground stuff was missing. Credit has to go to petrie. He did what was needed form a bloke that you expect to gets smashed in the hitouts. He has 10 contested possessions, 4 clearances, 9 one percenters and 8 tackles.

No offense but it seems you saw a different game than everyone else.
I know the bloke is old and he probably wasn't expecting gametime but it's proved valuable backup.

actually insurance but his unknown potential should have seen him played ahead of petrie. next round play the petrie drinking game and if your not blind drunk by the end of the game then i owe you and PETRIE an appology

one of those posters on BF that won't change his mind after its made up.

but his potential is the unknown
Rubbish.

He plays in the WAFL. The potentail is on display there. And he has played for us at times as well.
t the pub today we had a drinking game every time petrie stuffed up or was just hopeless, lets just say im glad i wasnt driving.

That you are drunk I believe to be true. However because it's on Drew mistakes, well that is a lie. He had one blunder.

Given your thought process on Drew leading into the game, he could have 25 possession 4 goal game and you would still say he is hopeless.

You despise him because he is keeping out Fraser (lol) and is Simmos mate. That much is fair.

His games have simply not warranted you teeing off on him, a blind drunk can see this.
