Lee is the most overated sportsperson in this country and should be dropped for Gillespie's return. Brad Williams is also ordinary, but at least his efforts in the field are worthy of note. Personally, i'd chop him for Bichel as well. Bracken has been the pick of our bowlers in this test.

I wouldn't play Gillespie. I'd rather have 3 of the other 4 fully fit than Gillespie half fit. Not worth the risk IMO. I'd stick with the 3 from this match. Andy Bichel - enjoy playing for Queensland.

There's not much you can do about it.

True, but tell me, if a player you considered a dud was consistently getting a game for Melbourne (say Grgic, a few years back), would you express your opinion, or merely say 'the selectors rate him, so that's all that matters'?

Lee won't and shouldn't be dropped.

As much as I like Rofe, its probably not the test to bring him into the team for. Given the fact were a 75% chance of winning this to make it 1-1, it doesn't get much more pressure than that.

Gillespie will come in for Williams I feel, as Bracken has done enough in this second innings to retain his spot.

Couldn't have put it better, I'd like to keep Williams in and Gillespie rested but I can't see it happening.

Bracken to be replaced by Bichel

No way Bracken should or will be replaced after his efforts in this test. I'd think he's the first fast bowler picked for the Sydney test, with one of Williams or Lee to be replaced by Dizzy.

I'd say Brett Lee will stay in the side because of Steve Waugh's influence on the selections. However, I'd much prefer Williams to stay in the side instead of Lee, he's clearly not as damaging or threatening now that he's lost a lot of pace.

Williams though is about as threatining as tissue paper. But i must admit his efforst in the field have been first rate.

Lee at least has some zing into his bowling at times, especially when he has the new ball in hand.

Both.

In that case, at least allow us to express our opinion on Lee.

BTW I don't think he should be dropped either.

1. True
2. Williams, whilst being a trundler, has shown more zip and nouse this test than Lee.

Lee is an over rated hack.

I would have thought four wickets (albeit the last three were tailenders, but his efforts in the field more than account for that) would have almost cemented him a spot in Sydney.

does throw up a big dilemna.

Bracken bowled extremely well and got two crucial wickets.
Williams didn't bowl as well but picked up three wickets at the end when no one else could.
Lee bowled allright, although fiarly loose, but as much as some people here would like to see it he won't be dropped.

Gillespie may not even be ready for the Sydney test anyway.

Opening bowlers should never be picked because they can field well. If there's a better bowling option you must always go with that beter option.

If another bowler is considered, Martyn is in trouble. I don't see Williams (5 wickets), Bracken (best bowler this Test), Lee (spearhead and always the potential weapon) or MacGill (5 wickets & #1 spinner) being dropped. Also, Katich to play as the second spinner, plus in sound form with the bat.

Probably no change at all to the side, Bichel 12th man again.

Brett Lee disappointed me today with his erratic bowling. He will probably stay in the side as he came in after just recovering from an injury. Not sure he deserves to be there any more than Gillespie does.

As for the people who constantly say he can only get tailenders out and only bounces them as well, did you watch this test? Did you watch his last few that he played in. Name the batsmen (oops sorry I mean "tailenders") that he got out.
