Generally players will only screw over the team they're leaving in the PSD if they are disgruntled, which he isn't.

Players don't give two stuffs about the compensation that goes to their former clubs.

This is unicorns & rainbows level crap.

If they cared that much, THEY WOULDN'T LEAVE.

Hypothetical

Martin A: I wanna go to club X (North) for $$$.
Martin B: I wanna sign on with Richmond. (looking more unlikely by the passing day)

There are two outcomes to position A.

Richmond A: We are going meet your contract offer.
Richmond B: We are not matching that offer, go.

Then there are three outcomes.

Martin A: Great, I was only hanging out to drive the price to its optimal dollar
Martin B: Martin is traded and Richmond get a compo pick.
Martin C: Despite matching the contract, I have told you I am not staying here. I am off to the PSD. Release me or get nothing.

There is not a snowflakes chance in hell that Richmond would sign him on knowing he wanted out, on the massive risk that they would end up with nothing. Richmond aren't GWS, who are the only club in the comp that could afford to toss a mid to late 1st round pick on the roulette table in the hope it came back as a top 3 pick or two 1st round picks.

I'm a nobody, but I'm confident he is leaving.

I always thought he was staying.

Based upon the delay I began to think he was going.

Based now on giantroo's info, I now think we are a realistic chance of being the destination club.

No idea what you mean.

Richmond aren't confident that he's staying. That's not opinion.

When you mow wet grass with the catcher on, it always gets clogged up and is hard to get it done.

Fact.

You'll need to speak more clearly.

Who is Smith and what's the relevance to Martin?

Tell us that one again about your friend who's on the inside at Geelong and knows for sure that Lids is going to the Cats.:drunk:

... the Tigers are keen to get an indication from Martin and his representatives as to whether the 25-year-old is favouring staying at Punt Road or exploring his options.

“We’re probably approaching that time where we’d like to get a sense of where their heads are at,” Gale told ABC Grandstand on Saturday.

“We do have to plan and we've got the salary cap and other players, so I guess we’re approaching that point.”

Despite the club’s efforts to get a gauge on Martin’s decision, Gale stressed Richmond has plans in place regardless of whether the star midfielder decides to stay or leave.

RICHMOND chief Brendon Gale is confident of retaining star free agent Dustin Martin, saying the Tigers have a “really strong, compelling offer” for their midfield bull.

How's that a plea? Over dramatic much

How did st Kilda PSD threat go on Carlisle

The only time it works is when you're last and if you're last why in the hell is Martin going there

You'll need to remove your head from your rectum to understand you've stuffed up more times than Smith has had tap outs..... probs a few.

With the amount of time and effort you have invested into this thread, I can imagine you're going to feel pretty flat if this all amounts to nothing.

So where's he going?

North Melbourne? St Kilda? Sydney? Collingwood? Other?

Will obviously want to be at a club who can win a flag in the next 4 years or so. And while yes, Richmond are in the 8 I think he's had just about enough of what Hardwick is selling.
You know where he is going, cheeky. :D

1)It is
2) They're not my words

Irrelevant.

Your level of genius is astounding

He will let us know in due course.
Yeah and your words are over dramatic and deliberately used to cause angst. You're the Kevin Bartlett of this forum

Hey, I have gone from improbable to possible. Nothing more.

Yeah and your words are over dramatic and deliberately used to cause angst. You're the Kevin Bartlett of this forum

What angst? Are you a Richmond supporter? If so, then your own player is the one creating the angst. If not, then what business is it of yours?

I think you're just pissed because your infantile drivel can't hit a target.

I think he's already signed for North. The only decision left is does he want to train in the north training singlet or the north training shirt.

A few years ago Martin went too early on selling his services. Just didn't have enough to back up his demands for huge cash.

Fast fwd to now and he is the real deal and can demand what he wanted a few years ago. Guy just wants maximum cash. Richmond will just have to stump up the cash rather than ask him to accept lower 'loyalty orientated' wages. I'm sure if Richmond can match the highest bidder, he will stay as it is simply a cash argument for him. The quicker Richmond learn this, they might recover the situation. Without Martin it is rebuild time.

Tough to face this situation, he kills the Tigers either way.

I can't believe people still swallow this.

Ablett, Franklin, Dangerfield......
Players/managers don't wait until October to make a decision.

It's done. Martin is just waiting for the season to end before announcing it..

Your tin foil hat is to tight and has effected your short term memory. You forget Ralph Carr and how he operates. He has with dusty already waited till the end of season, openly showed dusty to other clubs gws was the last example and dusty re signed.

Sorry to shatter you and your fellow trade experts hopes but Dusty will stay a tiger for another 5 years. Carr is just loving the free exposure all this brings to build his stable
