Generally players will only screw over the team they're leaving in the PSD if they are disgruntled, which he isn't.
Players don't give two stuffs about the compensation that goes to their former clubs.
This is unicorns & rainbows level crap.
If they cared that much, THEY WOULDN'T LEAVE.
Hypothetical
Martin A: I wanna go to club X (North) for $$$.
Martin B: I wanna sign on with Richmond. (looking more unlikely by the passing day)
There are two outcomes to position A.
Richmond A: We are going meet your contract offer.
Richmond B: We are not matching that offer, go.
Then there are three outcomes.
Martin A: Great, I was only hanging out to drive the price to its optimal dollar
Martin B: Martin is traded and Richmond get a compo pick.
Martin C: Despite matching the contract, I have told you I am not staying here. I am off to the PSD. Release me or get nothing.
There is not a snowflakes chance in hell that Richmond would sign him on knowing he wanted out, on the massive risk that they would end up with nothing. Richmond aren't GWS, who are the only club in the comp that could afford to toss a mid to late 1st round pick on the roulette table in the hope it came back as a top 3 pick or two 1st round picks.
