1.5 mil over 7 years is a fair bit to the average guy, when you are talking either just over $10 million or $8.5 million they should both be life changing and with the right investment he shouldn't have any problems leading a very comfortable life. Does dusty owe Richmond anything? Probably not however I am led to believe dusty is a very loyal person so I'm sure he wouldn't forget all the club has done for him since he arrived as a kid.Its not effectively 150k after tax - its a lot higher. i can't be bothered going through the tax laws, but he can put 30% of said income to a trust, therefore reducing taxable income to 24.5% ( CGT ). So it would be a lot closer to 7 years by 225k or 1.5mill bottom line. Life changing if you invest it properly.
Money has to come into equation for any rational person whether you like it or not. the key will be how close that gap is between each sides offer.
He doesn't owe Tigers anything, nor do they owe him.
