AFL Club
Collingwood
The GWS midfielder has reportedly requested a trade back to Victoria. I have had my eye on this guy from his first or second game and was hopeful that he would eventually wish to return home. It is obvious that he is a real talent and I would love to see him at the pies next year.

Best case senario would be both Shiel and Adams to the club. Potentially package up Shaw and DT compo pick 11 for them both?

Would love for this to happen. Thoughts?

where have you gotten this information from? I have heard that his close friend Tommy Bugg is keen on a move back to Melbourne as well.(i know some people that are close mates with Bugg)

But yeah, Buckley loves Dyl Shiel... Bucks coached him back when he was 16, and i remember Buckley saying how much he rated him. This guy is all class, hard worker, and is just a brute on baller in the daniel Kerr mould... Would much rather him than Taylor Adams.

Had so much hype from his junior career, would like him at the club for the right price.

Adams + Shiel for Shaw + 11 seems too heavily in our favour, unless Adams and Shiel nominate us.

We have the money. ;)

that deal would be insane. Would set this club's midfield up for literally another 10 years.

If this trade went through, in 1-2 years, Adams would replace Ball as the in and under clearance specialist. While Shiel would replace Swanny as that powerful, explosive mid(which is important when you consider Pendles and Beams are not all that quick)

Pendlebury, Beams, Shiel, Adams looks a solid Midfield for the next 5 years. throw in an Aging Swanny, and also the developing Josh Thomas in there and suddenly that is an insane midfield group.

Add in Crouch, Kennedy and possibly Broomhead as the outside type. Such a well balanced midfield.

I would be keen for the club to explore the following:

Adams + Shiel + 20 = 10 + 11 + shaw

To me it is a reasonably fair trade. There could be further swapping of picks to balance it.

Would give us two mids who have shown they can match it at the level, who also fit the exact roles the pies need to fill. Given their age profile and the mix of playing styles, it would make the midfield explosive and dynamic for the foreseeable future.

It would also allow us to maintain a pick near the first round to maybe pick up another need like McCarthy.

If you say Adams has approximately equal value to Shaw, then the trade you are suggesting is Shiel +20 for 10+11.. so one of the best young midfielders in the game for pick 10 plus 9 spots downgraded?

Heavily Collingwood favoured

Dylan Shiel is a #1 overall type talent, don't underrate him just cause he was a predraft concession

Great player, great talent, but he will expensive

They want experience and a ruck . I'd give them shaw and witts for shiel and Adams. Then I'd offer Sydney 2 and 3 for white and Mumford . I love shiel he will be elite.

Shaw and O'Brien would be the only likely trade to get both Adams and Shiel. I highly doubt we would go for that though, nor should we. For a laugh head over to the Carlton board, they are offering all kinds of spuds to get Adams and Shiel.

If we want him and Adams we'd have to effectively swap Shaw and Thomas (his FA compo) for them, which may be too high of a price.

Although it would mean we'd have two very highly rated youngsters and still have our original first round pick, win win.:)

Spot on.

If Hine is saying that this is a weak draft why not trade out picks 10 & Daisy compo for Sheil & Adams.

Shaw can then be traded elsewhere for some equal experience maybe?

I'm still undecided on Daisy, but if we could get Shiel as a replacement I'd pack his bags for him! Would much prefer Shiel over Adams.
Daisy is gone

GWS are chasing experienced players not additional first round draft picks.

Heath Shaw would have to form part of this offer for the Giants to consider any package deal.

I would still want to have an active first round pick regardless.

On form they will take your picks. The mini draft was supposed to be for experienced players, they took more early picks for those.

Shiel contracted until 2015 and it would take an over the top deal for it to happen. Most likely won't go any where and Giants will try and change his mind over the next two years.

 isn't he trying to get home this year?
