The way its going at the Moment this will be the top 6 selections.

1) Melbourne PP: John Butcher (Kpp) to go with Watts.
2) West Coast PP: Tom Scully (Mid) lacking a run and Carry player.
3) Melbourne: Jack Fitzpatric (Ruck/For) need a dominant Ruck to feed yound on ball division.
4) West Coast: Kane Lucas (Mid) Is the next best player and may play off the HFF.
5) Fremantle: Anthony Moribito (Wing) Another fast player that Freo love.
6) Richmond: Jack Trengove (Mid) Another gut busting Runner to compliment Cotchin, Delido and Co.

At the moment there is too much up in the air to predict any further.

agree on that one, if melbourne had two top picks wouldnt be surprised to see them take a midfielder anyway, even though they have a bit of a surplus atm.

Great thread Eagle Ant

Melbourne will take Scully at #1

west coast will win 2 more surely, i think it will be

1 melb - scully
2 melb - butcher
3 freo - lucas/morabito
4 wce - morabito/lucas
5 rich - ?

Surely West Coast can win 2 more games this year, this avoiding the PP before the first round?

Yes, surely they could, but they won't :)

Too much incentive for Melbourne and West Coast not to finish on 4 wins.

I was going to make a similar comment, but deleted it. My comment was close to trolling...

There is only 1 team I can think of who failed to get the PP from West Coast's current position - Melbourne in 2007, who faced a Carlton side desperate to get their hands on both Kruezer and Judd. Carlton wanted it more, so Melbourne missed out on a PP.

West Coast SHOULD be able to win at least 2 more games. Whether they WILL or not remains to be seen.

Eagles will win more than 4 games hence getting only 1 early round pick.My prediction is Morobito.

Don't priority picks go at the end of the first round of picks at 17 and 18.

The first time around, yes. After two years of 4 wins or less, the priority pick is moved to the start of the first round. This is why Richmond did not get the number 1 pick after finishing last in 2007. Carlton had been bad for longer.

Would rather Richmond get Morabito then Trengove. But either would be great. Im not sold on Lucas at the moment.

I'm still trying to comprehend the fact that Melbourne will take both picks #1 and #2. Richmond need a quality forward and a classy, skillful mid and could of taken one of Butcher/Scully - whoever Melbourne didn't take. I guess their only shot would be to finish bottom.

They won't necessarily, though it does appear likely at the present point in time. Don't forget that West Coast are also looking at a PP ahead of the first round this year.

In order to take both #1 and #2, they will need to finish bottom (16th) AND win 4 (16 premiership points) games or less AND they need West Coast need to win 2 more games (minimum).

Assuming West Coast win 5+ games:
If they don't finish bottom, but win less than 4, they get #1 but not #2.
If they finish bottom but win more than 4, they get #1 but not #2.

Assuming West Coast win 3 or 4 games:
If Melbourne finish bottom, they get #1 and #3.
If Melbourne finish above West Coast, but win less than 4, they get #2 but not #1.

Essentially you should be switching your support to Melbourne for the remainder of the season.

We'll definatly get a top 5 pick, its just a matter of who?

Tom Scully will go pick 1. I don't see it changing.

This time last year Jack Watts shot up to almost be pick one. Before that Nick Nat was going 1 & Rich 2....
IMO....

1. Scully
2. Butcher
3. Morabito
4. Stevens
5. Lucas
6. Fitzpatrick

Richmond in 2008 had 3 wins at the halfway mark then won 8 of the last 11. Wallace's pride was his downfall: we could have bagged Watts and Hartlett/Rich last year if only he had been prepared to tank.

dont even talk about it, if we dropped all these players at this time last year we would have watts and hartlett, and then had a poor year this year because of youth and got scully and butcher.
we are that bad that we turn it on at the worst times.

I reckon Dustin Martin will be a big improver and may slide into a top 5 selection.

The type any team would love to have.

Kicks well on either foot, has penetration in his kicking too. Gets the ball, tough and hard, is a total midfielder in my opinion.

Scully looks the goods to be number one.

Obviously the the ladder will determine who goes where.

Scully (The Obvious number one pick going on what ive seen and heard, will probably go to Melbourne)

Lucas (Westcoast, will be the team most intrested in Lucas out of the bottom four sides based on need, Melbourne and Richmond wont pick him up on need).

Butcher (Richmond, Fremantle, Westcoast and Melbourne will all be interested in attaining a such an impressive key forward, Westcoast would be the one most likley to overlook him given our number of talls.)

Morabito (Plays inside and out, all bottom four sides will show allot of interest in him, obviously Fremantle and Westcoast will be attracted to him the most with Richmond having a similar player in lids).

Stevens (Westcoast will be very intrested in Stevens given the way he plays football, obviously i look forward to seeing how strong he is outside, Richmond will take a hard look at him, based of thier need for another hard inside midfielder).

Fitzpatrick (Hard to say, obviously very athletic. Handy infront of goals, not sure he has as much upside as Naitanui so he wont go as high, i feel he may slide).

Duncan, is a skillful player. Speed will be his issue in adjusting to senior football but when he does mature he will be quality, currently i think he will 5-10.
