Want a go a lot better than the effort I saw against St Marys (8 goal loss)

Stay tuned for the Local Footy Scores EDFL A Grade top 20, to be released prior to the Good Friday clash between Keilor and Strathmore.
Anymore news on Craigieburn I saw that they had about 35 on the track Tuesday but that may have included 18's. If it is true that they have poor numbers why is no one discussing why and how an A grade club in the one of the best comps going around can have this happen
Only proves my point , that the imported players will only put in if getting paid . Where our home growns put in every time they pull on the jumper.
Actually interesting you mention the Betstar comp ,2 years in a row EDFL teams start favourite 2 years in a row GFL teams win it .Maybe the EDFL is way overated.

No disrespect to Strathmore or Marby but I'd back Sth Barwon and Bell Park over them any day of the week. It's just a stronger comp, which doesn't make the EDFL overrated.

Out of curiousity, how do you think the strathmore's, marby's would stack up againist the top team sin the VAFA, Old Xavs, Collegians.. where the debate over home growns and paid mercenaries is far less prevalent?

Old Xavs would be comfortably better imo.
Absolutely kidding yourself. It's just an accepted 'truth' that Amo's footy is the best tier after VFL. This was true up until about the early 2000's and now the best teams from he Eastern, EDFL etc would obliterate any Amo side. Just my opinion!

Hardly, they usually beat Balwyn comfortably who beat a nearly full strength marby side when they had quite a few out.
Noble Park loses to Ammos sides and thumped Greenvale. I love the Edfl but it's a fair way behind Ammos/ Eastern league.
Oak Park just beat Scorseby on weekend.
I havn't watched much Amo's I'll admit, but what I have seen is a completely different game, much cleaner, skillful etc. The toughness and strength of teams like Marby, Greenvale, Strathmore I think would win out.
For me, the EDFL has improved 10-fold since I first watched it in mid 90's. It is a semi-professional sport now. It's an interesting and endless debate but end of the day EDFL footy is the best it has ever been right now. I have no doubt that an EDFL combined side would beat any other combined side right now as the talent across the clubs is awesome.
As far as i'm aware, Noble Park hasn't lost to a Ammos side in a few years. Do you know something i don't?
Last week they beat St Bedes Mentone by 52 points (13.7-85 to 5.3-33)

This is going back a couple of years.
The Info came from a former coach and a former player of Noble Park. So I'm reasonably confident of it. Though by the sounds of it you'd have a better idea.

always a never ending debate as everyone thinks their comp is the best.
I've had a foot in both a grade edfl and vafa clubs at one stage and although the standard of edfl has increased dramatically, the vafa should still be regarded as the best (maybe a tie with efl). i believe the 90% of edfl's increased standard is due to the influx of ex-afl players which keeps on getting bigger, so you take away them and i reckon vafa would have them comfortably covered, as most players are home grown (yes there is still the odd ex-afl player but nowhere near as much as edfl.
the other reason vafa is as strong as it is is the no money factor which means less disputes, player walkouts and the player loyalty is still strongly present, where as the money is killing edfl with homegrown players leaving and some pretty poor actions by some player chasing cash
this is sure to cop some flack but just my opinion!

TOP CALL !!! "officially" no one gets paid in the ammos, but common knowledge that players recieve other increments i.e, additional house payments, house extensions etc.
Oh and for the uneducated, increments = payment

Finally someone has said the truth that has remained the worst kept secret for years.
The Ammo clubs have been paying serious dough for years for their top tier players
and right throughout the grades.
I will preface this by saying that it is limited to a select few at some clubs.
It is so naive to think that all players continue at Ammo clubs purely for the "right "reasons of mateship, loyalty, etc.
There are seriously skilled playing for their clubs for the rolled up banknotes in the socks.
Do I endorse it?
Absolutely not!!!
Unfortunately it is the sad reality of what is afflicating footy clubs everywhere.
It will mean the end of some clubs in the near future due to irresponsible payment of players and bankrupt some clubs.
