Was going to put this in the Eels thread, but think it warrants its own.

Good luck to Kenny as he fights this s**t disease.

Parramatta rugby league great Brett Kenny has been diagnosed with cancer.

The 56-year-old recently discovered he has lymphoma cancer and will undergo chemotherapy in the near future.

Kenny said told Seven News, that while the diagnosis was a shock, he was looking forward to starting treatment.

There was a suggestion from Wigan fans here that it would be great if the teams for the forthcoming Wigan/Hull match at the Gong could be led out by Brett Kenny and Peter Sterling, in the light of their starring roles in the famous 'best ever' Challenge Cup Final in 1985. I hope the club will look into seeing if that's possible.

I've been a Parramatta fan for over 40 years and our backline from the early 80's would have to been one of the best in history. Guru, Crow, Zip Zip, Sterlo and Bert is the equal to any I've seen.
It's generally a toss up as who was my favourite, but Bert normally gets my vote, he holds a special place in my heart because he was the star of our first three premierships, scoring two tries in each.

All the best Bert.
