Cup teams expand in heat

THE AFL will expand the interchange benches for Sunday's NAB Cup quarter-final between Fremantle and Collingwood at Perth's Subiaco Oval.

The forecast is for temperatures in the mid-30s and the teams will be allowed two extra men apiece on the bench, bringing the total for each team to eight.

The half-time will also be extended by five minutes.

Damn. That means virtually no selection dilemna. I was looking forward to see how they squeezed the numbers.

So, it looks like the same temperature as last week. Which begs the question, why expand the bench for this w..... oh, we're playing Collingwood.

Well it is a dilemma. Duffield is definately in the team. CC has spoken of Gilmore's importance. So surely he can't be droped.

Black and Pavlich will likely get a run. So does that mean that Cook and McManus won't play? if so, will they get a game at all this year?

If they don't get a game even in the preseason they'd be lucky to get one in the regular season! They'll both be backup in case of injuries unfortunately for them both!

Kasey Green went from fringe player to doing ok in a grand final. Everyone on the list plays a role, and it may be an important one if the cards fall for them and they have done everything right, which with those two you would think they would be.

Tim Sossage (Or was it Lachy Reid.. can't remember) just reported that Des is almost certain to miss. So only one other player to miss out. Geez, you'd hate to be the one player to get cut. I reckon it'll be Macca.
