Or you can ride around stormveil castle to get to the next area/head east and get to another area that has plenty of smithing stones. You can also get to the Capital City in under 10 minutes, plenty of great upgrading materials there.

I’m not sure what you mean by little black spots?
Got the metorite staff but there’s no upgrade option for it?
There was for the astrologers staff.

These marks are probably your best bet for smithing Stones. There's a few on the map.

Meteorite staff doesn't upgrade for some reason but it starts with an S scaling so it's good early.

If you get a little further in the game there's a spot (name escapes me I'll play about 8pm and edit my post) where you can farm 1900 runes a minute. Basically ride the horse down a hill, trigger a boulder, dodge it and once it goes over the edge you're 1952 runes richer.

I'd still be in the 20-30 level range without it!

That Gatefront area is a good spot to farm at the beginning. Don't be afraid to venture further out of that border, you can rack up 3,000+ doing a tiny bit more travel.

I used to use the spirits to help take out the giant troll once I lure it to the open camp, now I'm strong enough to take it on solo. And there are 2 more of them dragging a wagon a bit further out.

You get to the location by reaching here Bestial Sanctum | Elden Ring Wiki first, then just go down a bit and you'll find the grace site.

I've managed to get 9780 runes twice from doing this but have no idea how.
It was a nice surprise though :sweatsmile:
 
I beat Rennala last night, was a bit of a pain tbh. figured out the first half easy enough, died a few times to random chandeliers dropping which one shot me though until I paid attention to where they were. Died with one or two hits remaining on the second stage 2 or 3 times in a row (f that dragon summon) and then lost my shit as i was pissed off haha. i know id be better off coming back in a day or so but i ended up just co oping and after a few dumb as shit attempts where i would have embarassed myself i took her out and the dude who joined di next to nothing lmao

One thing i don't like is every main boss is so big and quick. fck me your window to heal or get a few hits in is heckin'g tiny.

Number of times ive rolled out the way thinking i was safe only to still get owned because their attacks have long range
 
Not a lot of progress made tonight, I was going to head to the next area.... then I remembered even though I beat Godrick days ago, I never activated his great rune, so I went back to the castle area to take the steps to do just that.

After that I made my way to the next area I was going to attempt, but then got side tracked (happened to get to the nearby church and get the sacred tear, which then made me try to find other churches where I forgot to get the tear). Currently have a +5 flask and 8 uses. Can basically fill my near empty health bar with each flask use now, would previously take 2. Will try to beat more bosses over the weekend.

What does activating the great Rune do exactly?

This spot is great but I don’t worry about the chicken. Radahn’s starscorge great sword pulls half of them in and then you blast them with one shot. They get a few hits in but it pumps out the runes if you need them. Apparently the end game sword is the best but not there yet and think I’m high enough level unless I want to play with magic.

I think that’s what I will be doing from now on if there is a boss I’m struggling with I’ll just do co op with him

I tried to do this but it sent me into another players world instead.
 
If you're struggling on Margit, make sure you use the summon sign outside the fog door as well as your own summon (prob wolves or jellyfish).
There is also an item you can get, Margits shackle, that can let you bind him twice in phase 1. That should get you through to phase 2 pretty reliably every time.
 
I can't believe this ****ing game, I just got past Liurnia, I thought that's it, I've seen most the map, nope, it just gets bigger and bigger

There are some moments that are just some of the most breathtaking I've experienced in a game for a long time when it comes to exploration and surprises, the design choices are smart, it's been wild

Dual wielding two curved greatswords now because why wouldn't I want two big ****ing swords that stacks bleed like a mother****er
