yup, decreased cheese:
Decreased Ash of War, Hoarfrost Stomp’s damage and increase cast time.
Decreased weapon skill, Sword of Night and Flame’s damage.
Decreased the damage of spirit summoned when using the item Mimic Tear Ash and changed the spirit’s behavior pattern.

Beat Godrick today. I first attempted him at level 18 and got nowhere near, so went off exploring everything, came back at level 40 and slapped him into oblivion. Every time I thought i'd explored everything in an area I found something else.

Still heavily lacking in decent armour. Can't find anything.

The armour comes later. Some great sets in this game.

Level 47 and still in my default outfit!

Dez! Experiment with the spirit ashes and see what distracts Godrick more. I rotate between the wolves and the single rotten dog. People swear by the jellyfish but it doesn't last long enough as a diversion for me.

When I say accomplish nothing I mean I've found nothing to accomplish.

Where is Godrick? I went in a portal and am now running around Dragonbarrow.

Oh crap I think I mangalated multple posts into one!!

You'll get lost a lot, it's hard to know where to go (hence why I watched a lot of youtube videos to get a better understanding). I just did laps of the surroundings a few times (also helped with farming and leveling up early). I posted on here that I was getting lost in just the tutorial zone - it took ages to figure out the right path out :P

A few people at work play it, some have already finished it. I started a few days after someone else did, but I've leapfrogged his progress massively (he still hasn't beaten the first few bosses and is working on beating the wolf boss in the cave).

If you're struggling on Margit, make sure you use the summon sign outside the fog door as well as your own summon (prob wolves or jellyfish).
There is also an item you can get, Margits shackle, that can let you bind him twice in phase 1. That should get you through to phase 2 pretty reliably every time.

Finally knocked him off just before. Having my sword at +5 seemed to do the trick along with the summon for phase 1 and the wolves for 2.

Completed Rannis quest line.

Took me a few hours had to look up a YouTube vid on where to go.

everything in this game is so cryptic which I don’t like always have to look up on the internet for things was totally worth it for Ballids armour tho.

I appreciate what the developers achieved in terms of open world design and not hold your hand but for stuff like side quests I would like to be told where to go and what to do.

This is the only game I’ve ever played where I don’t feel like I’m cheating by looking stuff up on the internet.
I would be so stuck if I didn’t look things up or ask questions here to help me progress.

Okay decided to go up the trail towards Stormveil Castle only to be hit by what I assume was fire-clad comet hitting the planet.

The fu**?

I assume that's just a catapult weapon done by one of the weaker AI's (if you can run up behind it you can take the guy out).

Level 60
And have unlocked the ability to purchase Smithing Stones 3 & 4 at the round table

Also killed that big dragon (that doesn't fight back) for 80,000 runes.... I was able to level up 4 times (thanks to already being at the near 20,000 threshold per level haha).

Confronted this dude and immediately thought he was from the Dark Souls III cover :P

I swear people think of everything :p

Eliminated: Red Wolf of Redagon and Queen Rennala

Red Wolf (aka Dark Souls Sif on steroids) was far harder and more frustrating. Took 30 minutes of dying just to get the victory, tried a mix of different Spirits - in the end the Jellyfish helped secure the victory. All I needed was a distraction that lasted long enough to get 5 hits in (should have been 4, but I mistimed a swing that barely connected).

Beat Queen Rennala in two tries, I died the first time as I had used too many flasks before I got to the boss door. The second time was fairly straight forward.

The hardest part of that zone was GETTING to that end point, took a few hours of figuring it out.... but getting to the bossses was only a few minutes!
