I give a fair bit to Wojcinski on this forum, and rightly so in my opinion, but thus far he hasn't done too much wrong in 2007.

I also give a fair bit to Josh Hunt, and like Wojcinski, he hasn't done a whole heap wrong thus far.

But is it me, or is Corey Enright hopelessly overrated?

His disposal is very, very average, his brain (if it exists) is never in tune, and he just looks lost at times.

"Let's just bomb it long to no-one"

For Geelong to succeed in 2007, the middle rang players have to stand up. I'm not very confident they will.

Can't fault you on that.

Dont think hes overrated , I think if half the players put in like Enright we would be a lot better off. But everyone has there own ideas after a loss

Plus I have Enright in my supercoach team .
and I dont pick anyone over rated for that (ha)

Attack Ling efore anyone else

His disposal can be erratic but he busts his arse and I think his decision making isn't that bad. More to the point, I think his disposal lets him down more often than his decision-making.

He's no star but he puts in every week and ya can't fault him for that.

The team is overated.
How can we keep playing King? Give West a go
Ling is under the pump big time. Way too slow.
Playfair can not kick
If we keep playing these guys we will not improve

Lack of leadership and passion was glaring
Nothing has changed

I'm sorry but after last night with all this talk of a better side this year, I just dont buy it. Ling and Playfair do more harm than good and King may occasionally win a hitout but thats all, I know Nathan Ablett may have a while to go yet in his ability but I dont think hes gonna be that good. I just hope Hawkins is gonna be as good as everyone hopes.

Yes, yes he is!

He knows where to go to get the cheap handball but he's not damaging AT ALL!

Enright looks to go long when he gets the ball. Thats what we need. Not another player who will do this dinky little kicks.

If Enright goes, the GFC are in no better position that what we were in 2005 and 2006. Atleast half a dozen players need to go before him.

I agree with everything you said , Except I think at least a dozen should go before him. I cannot see how he could be blamed at all for last nights debarcal.

To be honest, Boris was pretty much just being Boris last night.

To say his disposal is hit-and-miss is along the lines of saying Mackie doesn't go in hard enough, Ling chips the ball sideways too much etc. It's almost a given that you live with it as part of the package. By no means qualifies it as acceptable, but yeah, you get the point.

So I guess on the whole, last night was just a typical Enright performance in my eyes. Read the ball well off the half back (and for what it's worth, I've never had a problem with Boris' "thinking" - if anything, he usually demonstrates a brain that works quicker than most others), ran hard on occasions, created abit, and mixed in some quality balls with some floaters.

Dont get negative about one nab cup loss. We had a few players out and we were coming off a hard slog last week. I agree ling and king are negatives for the side but look at the positives, we have played a heap of kids, prismall looks a star in the making, selwood looks the goods, the two aboriginal boys will add skill, pace and unpredictability and we have unearthed a tall quality running defender in hunt. do you think geelong really wanted to win anyway when they started a few stars on the pine. And enright is his creative self works his arse off for the team, and wins plenty of the ball. I thought he used the ball well last night and made the right descisions

The question is, who rates this guy anyway? He is the best example of a player who will thrive in a winning team because he hates the hard stuff, won't put his head over the ball / bust packs etc.. needs someone to do that for him so he can prance down the wing with the ball, and look great doing it.

It sh%t$ me when this guy gets in the bests just cause he gets 20 or so touches. Broaden your horizons people.

For starters, I'm not sure Boris fits in the same category as, say, a Mackie or Tenace as far as being a 'recipient' of 'feeder' balls is concerned. He'll put (and has put) his body on the line when the time called for it in the past.

In fact, to be honest, I'm not sure what your point is. We can't have every player throw their body into the contest and have no one hanging off the packs for the quick handball out. The distinguishing point (at least to me) has always been that, when the time calls for it, the player is prepared to put his body on the line. Boris has done so in the past.

Moons was just on AW. Sounded down about the defeat. He wasn't too impressed with the flooding tactics Brisbane employed. Also said he thought it was crucial that Ottens and King play every game and play well for us to have success this year.
He was off to lunch with him best mate KENT KINGSLEY

Moons is not the only one who is depressed:(
The Age:
Geelong was inept, virtually incapable of finding the football and directionless when it did. By half-time, the Cats had racked up 178 disposals for only three goals, equating to 60 touches for every goal. This statistic, which Denis Pagan has been known to call the "strike-rate", is just about as good a measure of efficiency that we have in the game. But you want to have 20 disposals a goal; not 60.

No you don't. You make it clear that it isn't acceptable and players with flaws in their game to the reserves to correct them.

Especially Cameron "I point into space and yell a lot because I can't catch anyone" Ling. Jesus I hate him.

This has come up before on big footy. I remember defending Enright quite a lot and getting absolutly hounded for doing it...
I do not believe Enright is overrated, if anything I think he is underrated (don't kill me guys!).
He is in our team ever week because he usually gets 20+ possesions he was 5th best & fairest 2004, 2006 and named in Geelong's best in round 22, 21, 17, 16, 15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 5, 3, 2 and 1. Anyway, I know stats don't always tell the full story. I haven't seen him look "lost" as you say, maybe I just missed it I don't know but I think he is a great player and is very valuable to our team.

Stats DO usually tell the story, however possessions don't.

I wouldn't take who the papers put as the "best" each week because those journos must barely watch the game as they always give their votes to the 3 highest possession getters and maybe the highest goal kicker...
