If I have an AFL membership (silver) what are the chances of getting into the game this Saturday.

And if so what time would I have to get there to be safe?

I am told that all of the seats are sold

not sure about AFL membership, but there are 2500 allocated entries for general admission entry to geelong members who don't have a reserved seat.

If your AFL membership is a Geelong Club Support Package you will be entitled to one of the 2,500 walk-up general admission spots by scanning your card at the gate.

IIRC gates open at 10.30, but I've got no idea what time you'd have to get to the ground to be safely in the 2,500.

If your AFL membership is not Geelong Club support you've got pretty much no chance.

can the scanners on the gate recognise the difference between a general admission membership and a reserved seat membership? sounds a bit hard to believe to me but I guess it could be true. Otherwise how else are they to know 2500 general admission members have entered? I have to play footy at 10am, should be able to get to the ground by 12 or shortly after, what are my chances?

Im the same afl silver member with cats club support. i rang the club yesterday and they told me once the tickets are sold they will be closing the gates.
im hoping to get there at 10.30 and bringing my big ladder just in case.

Wouldn't be surprised if it isn't sold out, with all the talk about having to get their hours earlier, plus it being live on tv, plus the weather being ordinary

I've never had a problem getting in with just my membership to these sorts of games. I'll be getting down there a little earlier to make 100% sure, but I don't envision too many problems.

triple m said there were some 'ugly scenes' outside the ground at the first bounce as the game had been oversold and some people with tickets had been rejected entry or something. any truth? if so what happened?

Apparently 2000 people were locked out... Only heard about the situation at the start of the game though. I don't get why people would rock up that late, wouldn't it make more sense to get there early?
