Hearing talk abouit Bellchambers going for a high first round pick etc, im not sure what im missing here but in my mind I dont think he is anywhere near worth that? I think he is a good player but certainly not worth a first rounder.

I'd love Bellchambers at Brisbane, but the reality is he is worth a pick in the 8-13 range IMO. And we have will likely have pick 5-6 which I think is overs. And we don't have any players we would be willing to give up unless one of them wants to go home to Victoria.

Therefor I think we will go hard at Gumby. I think a second round pick would be about right.

Exactly! So until he proves anything TBC who is proven should hold more currency should he not??

No way. Drew Petrie is a more proven player than Michael Hurley - on the open market Petrie should hold more currency? I don't think so.

Saints may have paid overs - time will tell. But if you think TBC is now worth a top 5 pick because Hickey went at 14 is not how this whole thing works.

Player ...........Bigfooty opinion............. Actual result/offer

Lovett .............30-40 range ...............first round pick (16)

Hooker .............3rd rounder if lucky .........Picks 25 and 26 (2 x early 2nd round picks)

Forgive me if I don't listen to the Bigfooty economists. BF is notorious for overrating draft picks. The facts are; (aside from Mummy who was poached) even semi-decent rucks go for quite high picks. If Essendon were to part with TBC, it would be for a high price, or quite simply they would not to it, as he has not requested a trade nor is he excess to requirements.

Pears and Gumby on the other hand...

What would Pears worth be? I thought he was going to be one of the premier back men in the comp a few years ago.

Which other game except the Melbourne game was he good? Your own MVP thread has put him in the top 5 players once and the match day reports also only put him in the best once - Round 2 V Melbourne.

Watching all but 2 games - Saints and GWS - he has not performed at the level he is capable of. If that is not disappointing then you are easily pleased.

Take what you want from it but I think supercoachlew scores are a fairly good indicator of a players impact on a game (bar taggers and defenders) and TBC has been very, very impressive recording scores of 100+ twice and only 3 scores below 70.

14 goals from 10 games is above par for a Ruckmen I'm my eyes and his 25 hit outs a game is fairly impressive even only from a statistical point of view, yeah? Or do you, along with every other person who thinks TBC is NOT worth a first rounder not recall recent history of trades?

MOST trades see the receiving team pay overs and that worth is quite often inflated if >player x< is a KPP/Ruckmen.

Oh, and the ludicrous remark that Hickey is worth more than TBC is laughable. TBC is proven at AFL, whatsHickey? Listed by an expansion club sees his worth over inflated? Please..

How funny are the recruiting guru's who play fisherman with people on here?

Guru "watch out for Zyrus Manson, he's a gun and could go in the first round"

BigFooty group think "I want Manson, he's a gun. The best thing to happen since electricity"

Actually makes me lol sometimes. It's funny to cause the guys openly discuss it in their respective phantom drafts but people become so clouted in there wants that they fail to see the shortfalls.

Just one more point

If a club wants TBC but only have pick 12, we take it but you cannot openly market his value on draft pick numbers alone.

If (Hyperthetically) Fremantle wanted him but could only offer pick 16, we need to decide to take that pick or entice a player as well..

Do people see where I'm coming from?

He's struggled for a few years with a pancreas injury, from any VFL watches, he looks like he's starting to play some consistent and solid footy again.

A little curious as to whether they would let go od Pears.

Defence is holding up well these days, Fletch, bless him, days are numbered, and I wonder if he would want to be retained as a long term replacement, unless they got some good value with that trade.

Dawes netted pick 20 (and another pick swap)
Mitch Clark netted pick 12
Jolly netted 14 and 46
Fevola netted Henderson and pick 12 (another pick involved)

thats just going back 4 years. If there's a market for him, which I reckon there is, then i don't think that's an unrealistic expectation at all. Like I said, you pay through the nose for talls.
Dawes a Premiership FF, Clark a ruck/tall whose made an All Aus squad, Jolly a Premiership ruckman, Fev a multiple Coleman winner.

Bellchambers is Essendons back up ruck who isn't delivering on his potential. Pick 15/20 his value for me.

Errr, his form has actually been great this year. Only had 1 real down game in round 6. He ran out of gas by round 10, a game in which he still got 37 hitouts and kicked a goal, and will come back in to the side in round 13 against West Coast fit, fresh and ready to go.

Delivering perfectly fine on his potential, more than happy to knock back high draft picks and just keep him.

Uh yes, but a player on the outter selection wise (Cheis Dawes), a player who wanted to leave to go "home" (Mitch Clark is from Melbourne yeh? :p ) another player who wanted to return home (Jolly is from Victoria so it's ok) and a complete Knobhead who was thrust out of his club faster than a premature ejaculation nasal spray add (Fevola).

Now I see your suggestions and raise you these
Cameron Wood (First round draft pick to Brisbane returned to Victoria for pick 14)
Robbie Warnock (injury plagued despite showing some promise was packaged up with pick 69 for picks 24, 56 and 72)
Mark Seaby (packaged up with 28 & 55 in return for Amon Buchanan and picks 22 & 118)
Shane Mumford (was rookie listed and thrown a big wad of cash and Geelong still received pick 28)
Jon Griffin (was off loaded for pick 61 - only cause Adelaide had paid overs for big Sauce Jacobs with picks 37 & 61)
David Hale (even commanded a compensation pick and a late round sweetener with #71)

Should I continue?

Not one post has said Hickey is better. Kane Cornes is a top ten player in the AFL. Got to love supercoach scores. Tbc started he season well and then fell away. His best game was the mauling of Melbourne. At the start of the year people thought he would be joining the best rucks in the comp. He has not come close. Mid 1st round for me. Top 5 would be for the very good young ruckmen - Goldy, Leuey. Pick 1 for the best young ruckman - Nic Nat.

Let me get this straight you think Goldy is worth pick 5, a guy who gets beaten every time he plays Essendon and think pick 14 would be overs for Bellchambers.

Never said he was a top 5 pick however contrary to popular belief on here from some bomber fans I place him more around the 10-15 range.
