I would have taken a 3-2 win at the start of the game so we can't complain about a win although we did do our best to bottle it, we've just got to learn that we can never take our foot off the pedal.

Super happy to get our third straight win and stay undefeated.

I am of the belief that Kone needed to come on at the same time as Deulofeu, Lukaky was absolutely stuffed, and Kone's pace can trouble tired teams.

I want Barkley to stay SO badly.
If he pisses off to Chelsea I will be heartbroken.
Open up the chequebooks Kenwright, this kid needs to be a blue for life.

After getting up at 3am I'm not sure when I'll hit the wall today, but now I'm just looking forward to our 6 pointer in regards to the title on Saturday :p early kick off, looking forward to it. Presuming we don't have Barry as its technically a loan, so I think Gibson would come straight in for him. That's the only change that needs to be made really, would like to see Del get more time but can't throw him in from the start over Ossie's experience against a team like Citeh

He will go nowhere for a few years minimum depending on our success :)

Haha reading this thread just took me back to the rollercoaster of a morning that was! Geez we know how to give our supporters hear attacks!

Just scored a worldie of a 90th minute winner with Deulofeu against the Shite on FIFA14. This has been a great morning.

On the topic of Barkley, he's a very different personality to Rooney. After breaking his leg, he's actually had to work incredibly hard to get where he is, so I don't think there is the sense of entitlement that Rooney had/has. He loves Everton, and I think he'll be an Everton player for a very long time.

Gibson will come straight in, for sure! Be interesting to see if he's a significant team "glue" like he was last year. Isn't Pienaar back next week? If so surely he'll come in?
Lukaku is known for his performances vs City.
I hope we're able to knock them off or get a draw, would be a fantastic result for us!

We will happily take that result.
Barkley has still got time on his contract.

Still might be worth trying to get a couple of extra years onto that deal.
I'm really not worried about him going any time in the near future, he's got the date he played his first game with us tattooed on him, he was born and raised in Merseyside and has supported Everton his whole life.

To me the best way to how passionate a player is about his club is the way he celebrates. Look at two players who left us in recent years Rodwell and Felliani, remember when Rodwell scored against United, he took his top off and made it all about him, when Felli scored he would move his thumb along the back of his jumper pointing at his name.

When Barkley scores you can just see the joy on his face and wants to be with his teammates and when other players score he's normally one of the first ones going to the player who scored and he celebrates just as much when someone else scored as if he did.

What a dream start to the morning. Should have probably been 5-0 up at half time and missed a couple of chances in the second half. We are a serious team with Lukaku. Need to spend big money to get him or a similar type player next season.

Lukaku ripped up pre season for us so he's in good nick.

He's capable of firing you to a top 5 finish. I hope he does :thumbsu:

Even if its at the expense of Chelsea? :p , It's still completely beyond me why Mourinho let him go on loan. I maintain he is Chelsea's best striker.

I'm now looking forward to buying new merch next season. COYB.

I also like that the amber is gone, I prefer just the blue and white.

Also I hope Nike sew the badges on the merch (jerseys, training, polo etc.) like they did on the above pic rather than the way they currently do for the jerseys.

Best choice won. Well done to the club

Ross Barkley has been named in the English squad alongside Baines and Jagielka again. :)

Great to see Jags and Baines in there again but I think Barkley can really learn a lot been in there, wouldn't it be fantastic if he could go to the World Cup.

He is outperforming everyone bar Baines, Sturridge and Rooney, basically no one he's in direct competition with, and should be pick on merit rather seniority.

Also came across this nice little article on George Green (He was the highly rated youngster we signed from Bradford when he was 15 a year or two ago).

George Green has been rewarded for his sparkling form for Everton so far this season with an England U-18s call-up.

The 17-year-old forward, who was signed from Bradford City two years ago in a headline-grabbing move ahead of interest from Liverpool and Fulham, scored a hat-trick in Kevin Sheedy’s side’s 3-1 away win over West Brom on Saturday.

Green slotted home two penalties either side of a superb individual strike from 25 yards to help the young Blues maintain their excellent recent run which has propelled them to second in the table with two games in hand on league leaders Manchester United.

Green, who has also featured for Everton’s U-21s this term, is a second year scholar with the Blues, and his recent form has impressed Sheedy.

He said: “He is playing regularly and having an impact in games by scoring goals and showing his undoubted potential.

“He’s also training well and has worked hard. We know he is a good player and now he’s performing at the level we expect of him and we hope that can now continue. Hopefully this is just the start and there is plenty more to come from him.

“The England U-18 selection will give him a big boost.”

Green has been playing in a free role for the Toffees, drifting in from the left hand side and Sheedy added: “We want to get him on the ball as much as possible in games and causing trouble for opposition defences.

“But also he is buying into the strong team ethic we have here which is very important. We were pleased with the performance from all our lads on Saturday although West Brom kept pushing and we have played better this season.”

Good to hear some positive comments on him after some people were question if he would fulfill his potential.
