This is a old but intresting topic to discuss.. I stumbled across a newspaper article that I had at home showing the preview of the Carlton vs Essendon game on the HUN and the picture of the FAB 4 including Nick Stevens.

Who replaces him?

Do we still have a FAB 4 ?

Your thoughts..

Kreuzer aside, none of those options strike fear in the opposition. McLean, admittedly, never made much of an impression on me while at Melbourne. So, Kade would be the best of that bunch but every team has a one-sided outside midfielder.

We imagine ourselves as top four material. Realistically, would any of those smalls above be 'fab four' material at Geelong, St Kilda, Hawthorn or Western? Not to mention we get run off our feet every time against Adelaide.

It's settled then, we're drafting another midfielder at pick 12.:thumbsu:

Mclean was an excellent player at his best and the Demons best midfielder. In 2006 Champions data ranked him second to Judd in effectiveness per TOG. While he's struggled with injuries in recent years, he's a darn good footballer.

Hopefully he regains full fitness and with Judd, Murphy and Gibbs to carry most of the workload, I've got very high hopes for him in 2010.

I agree exactly. He will be very good for Carlton. I think a great pick up.
