I saw the news tonight, where they said that fake $50 notes were found in shops. the people that passed these notes will get caught, because of fingerprints.

Got me thinking the perfect way to dispose of them, without getting caught.

Pokie venues people, just wear a latex glove when you put the note in the machine, play a couple of spins, say spend $5 dollars, then cash out, do this on a few machines, then take your couple of hundred dollars in coins to the cashier, get nice clean, legal notes, then move onto the next pokie venue, perfect. :thumbsu:

Now, can someone hook me up with a counterfeiter? :D

How does that work?

Surely the notes would have 100's or prints on them?

No they wouldn't, because most counterfeiters are stupid. They make the notes, then go to busy shopping centres, which is what they have done, buy a cheap article & hand over the fake note. so there are only a few fingerprints on them, plus stores have video cameras, my plan is perfect.

But what if they searched your Pokie notes?

If you went straight to the pokies then only yours would be on there.

hmm casinos and places with pokies have cameras too. If the place found the notes in multiple machines, then the camera could see who played all the machines and at the very least guess who it was..

And...

What if the store owner doesn't know it's fake and just puts the note back in motion?

It's not like you expect to get a fake note and check everyone of them.

Man I wish I had a money maker...:(

also, unless the person has a criminal record it is unlikely their prints will lead to them being caught as not everyone has their fingerprints on record.

You don't think pokies venues have cameras, which would pick up some random wearing latex gloves inserting $50 notes into different machines?? me thinks ur dreaming pal...

As I said, I would wear a latex glove when putting the note in the machine, Casinos have cameras, Pubs & RSL's don't.

I'm on a winner. :thumbsu:

Works a lot better if you counterfeit the lower denomination notes. Pass them off to the ditzy checkout girls and more often than not they get handed out in change to another customer.

But that takes a lot longer to get rich. :(

Pubs and RSLs dont have cameras???

Exactly which decade are you living in? The 60s, 70s or 80s???

BTW, Pokie machines, at least in Qld and Im pretty sure NSW and Vic, DO NOT accept $50 notes.

Great plan though Sandy, are you related to Danny Frawley?

In Vic they take $50 notes, I've seen people putting them in. No I'm not & don't spell my name wrong again. or I'll kick your arse.

What note do you usually put in Sandee?

You're going to die Dice Man.

$5, I'm a cheapskate, don't like wasting my money. But the local RSL has a free courtesy bus that drives you home, so I do my shopping & go there, saves me $10 on a taxi fare, plus I sometimes win, like last Thursday, won $397 jackpot. :thumbsu:

What a stupid thread.

Im not sure how pokie machines recognize what note is going in but i would guess that there is a fair chance they may not recognize fake notes.

Secondly, it would be fairly suspicous to management to see someone putting in a 50 dollar note, cashing 40 odd dollars in coins and then moving onto other pokie machines.

Do you think these people are stupid, fair dinkum, some people would try anything to get free money.

One of the worst threads of the year.

wrong. all licenced venues are required by law to have a CCTV system installed and in operation in operating hours. the system has to be of a sufficient standard to identify patrons and cover all entrances and exits. the machines are cleared regularly, so you'd be easily identified on camera.

plus, the counterfeit fifties arent very good at all. our currency is one of the hardest in the world to forge well enough to pass.

When I was about 18 I was searching through an abandoned factory in the street behind me here, and found a wallet sitting on the edge of the small creek behind with three 50's in it.
I had a good look at them and kinda thought something didn't look right, took them to a friend's place to have a closer gander at and realised eventually they were fakes.
Ended up buying a packet of ciggos at the local Greek corner store at 6am in the morning, the elderly Greek lady was still half asleep as usual so I figured she wouldn't look too closely.
I think I passed another over the canteen up at the football at Boyer and I can't remember where I passed the other one.

Astute observation Sandy (you sure you're not related to Danny Frawley???:p)
Everytime I see that name I think of:

"Welcome back to our coverage, I have with me the new Miss Australia in Leanne C*ck errr Leanne Dick..." :o lol

What a stupid thread.

Im not sure how pokie machines recognize what note is going in but i would guess that there is a fair chance they may not recognize fake notes.

This is where it would fall down. I'm not entirely sure how pokie machines recognise notes, but I'm guessing the majority of fakes wouldn't read correctly.

Secondly, it would be fairly suspicous to management to see someone putting in a 50 dollar note, cashing 40 odd dollars in coins and then moving onto other pokie machines.

Money launderers frequent casinos all the time to legitimise their money. If you put in $1000 into a pokie machine and you cash out at $900, the machine will not spit out $900 in coins, it will simply print a receipt for you, which you take to the service desk. If you ever get asked how you came into having that money, you won it at the casino.

The real winner is Other currency. When I went in to cash my ringett back into Aussie dollars I had to explain to the lady what currency it was. She would have had no idea.

Plus I made about 50 bucks due to the falling dollar. Winner.
