Tbf there's lots of talk about Battlefront and that's terrible.

Got the game for Christmas. Passed the first few missions and unlocked Sanctuary. I accidentally started a quest but I thought that didn't matter, so I did 6 real hours of building walls and shit around the settlers, making all the rooms perfect, etc.

6 hours later I've failed helping to defend Tenpline Bluff or something. Have I wrecked my entire story arc and made myself an evil prick just because I wanted every house to have 3 beds? Is it possible to get that mission back?

You haven't wrecked anything. You'll get another go a helping that settlement, and the 3 million others that get themselves in strife every 5 min

I don't bother helping to defend places when it pops up, makes zero difference to my story and I'm about 30 hours in.

Finished the Silver Shroud quests before. Managed to save Kent aswell on my 2nd attempt by intimidating the other 3 clowns into legging it then headshotting the boss a couple of times.
Was a pretty cool little standoff

Dickhead stole my power armour, tried to disguise himself. Changed the topic whenever I talked to him about it. After some fast travelling I came back to the settlement and he no longer had it on him. No doubt hidden in his underground lair.

Does this man end up as the main villain at the end of the story? I can't wait to dismantle him limb by limb.

I believe he is wearing my power armour, but it hasn't got the power armour texture, so they've just stretched his body into place for the size he would be with the power armour? That's my best guess.

Managed to fit in a few hrs this morning. Finally finished the nick valentine quest, the holotape one. Just wonderin how do I get his perk. Hes practically licking my balls but i still havent gotten the perk

It should notify you that he idolises you. Should.

And make sure you actually talk to him. If he tried to start the dialogue for the final conversation and you don't notice and walk away he will never bring it up again until you select the talk dialogue on him.

Guides I've searched tell me to go to vendors (which I don't think I have any of yet) and loot people (I do). I can't make shops at my settlement because I haven't unlocked the perk. This results in me trying to complete missions with 4 pistol ammo and 2 shotgun shells.

Get the Scrounger perk asap and then do the main story-line quests. I was struggling for ammo until I did this, now I'm walking around like bloody Rambo.

A pretty crap hacking one. The best thing about Valentine is the story tbh

As mentioned the scrounger perk is really handy early on. Otherwise if you're desperate and need to buy some then there is a little diner looking place just south of Sanctuary and east of Abernathy Farm which sells some fairly common ammo types. Worst case is to just foot it to Diamond City.
