This is the 4th different mission I've tried and failed to do, so I'm coming for help now. Every single enemy is unkillable, is this how it is supposed to be or do I need to learn some combat strategy?

Try using Vats more, fill up that crit bar.

This one smashed me about 8 times in a row early. Eventually I set up 2 bottlecap mines that took out the ghouls legs and spammed grenades or Molotovs wherever I could.

anyone have some tips on the quickest way to get Preston Garveys perk? I tried modding a bunch of weapons but he only liked 1...

As for donating items - no idea how to do that. And dialogue opportunities to be nice or peaceful dont come around that often.

For anything with a star I would generally lay into without vats since they regen their health at a certain point, then I would go to vats. In that case it's a ghoul, their limbs are weak so either free aim or vats the legs. Once a leg comes off they won't be going anywhere.

There is a timer on how often they like stuff. Mod a weapon, get the notification, quicksave and load. Rinse and repeat.

I don't grind for exp, I did grind some BoS and MM missions for companion perks. I haven't touched the story stuff in a while, up to finding the scientist in the Glowing Sea.

Last night I was just running around the Glowing Sea, in my Silver Shroud armour, with some Rad-X killing stuff and exploring. One shot most deathclaws.

Dude that was painful to watch. You have a full action point bar the whole time.

Those guys are so fast its almost impossible to hit them in real time

Open up vats and spam shots into his legs. He'll be cripped and will just uselessly lay there on the ground angrily trying to get you

All else fails....take drugs. Buffjet/psychojet. Slows time and increases damage/damage resistance

sided with lorenzo? The Mysterious serum looks awesome (+5 strength!) but i didn't want to piss off MacCready by killing all the cabots...he's apparently not a fan

I didn't really know VATS was a thing. I'm abusing it now and doing much better.

Am I the only one who gets to a terminal and decides not to deactivate enemy turrets because I want to shoot them and loot the nuclear material, circuit boards etc?

Yeah I did it a day or 2 ago and

and sided with Jack, I think he gives you a life time supply of the serum if you go back and see him after a week. Only got the notification to see him as I turned off last night

I did this too. I would also always pick a safe connected to a terminal before hacking so I would get experience from both

I sided with the son. Old man seemed like a jerk. The weapon you get after it (a few days later or something) seems pretty cool even though I never used it.

Haha I also do that. Activating the protectotrons robots or whatever they are called just to shoot them and loot them is another scavenging thing i do.

Deactivate turrets then destroy them and loot them anyway?

I always activate protectrons/turrets then let em do some clean up. Love the confusion it causes. Usually they get destroyed eventually and yield loot
