It ain't official

Yeah, it's made by loving modders like those other engine updates like Skyblivion (Oblivion into Skyrim engine)

It's a pity Bethesda doesn't adopt these modders into the team and have them working on these remastering projects full time and for console release while it concentrates on Elder Scrolls 6 and whatever else is in the pipelines with its A Team.

And his statements about the Brotherhood of Steel in F4 kind of put this into focus. He heaps praise on their characterization of them, despite the fact that their characterization of them in F4 is completely different (even to the point of breaking the suspension of disbelief for those who know what the Brotherhood are meant to be like) to previous versions of the game. He likes how they can be almost companions in encounters in the world, and you'll see vertibirds in the wasteland after the arrival of the Prydwen, and how that's integrated into the main quest, but that ignores the fact that the Brotherhood is not that bombastic, that simple monsterhunting is not part of their goals or their lore, that pacifying the Commonwealth is not what would appeal to them. They'd kill everything there, to take their tech; that's how the Brotherhood of Steel works. The fact that they're added to a series of random encounters in the world isn't to the story's benefit, it's to their detriment

We also learn through the other Fallouts that the Brotherhood is HIGHLY factionalised. West Coast and East Coast aren't unified by anything except their Power Armour. Their sub-factions are only ever loyal to whoever is local leader at that particular time. If one faction wants to engage with civilians more, then unless that faction leader gets called out and challenged then that's what that faction does.

Factionalised yes; going back completely on an isolationist perspective and permitting outsiders to join, in open and direct contradiction to established behaviour?

I get what you're saying, but the most unbelievable part of F4 is the fact that Elder Maxson has arguably more support and resources than almost any other BOS faction leader we see in any of the games. By their characterisation in prior games, he should be the one sitting in a bunker in the middle of no-where without anyone within the Brotherhood supporting him.

The only reason someone has not - by your words - overthrown him is dungeon-master fiat.

I got a backbone controller for my phone as a gift and decided to try out the cloud gaming feature. I’m shocked at how well this looks and plays on my phone, barely if any lag aswell, the controller isn’t the best quality but can still get the job done. Closest I’ll get to Fallout on the switch lol

What’s the cloud feature?

What’s the cloud feature?
Allows your phone/iPad to stream anything game you own from Microsoft/Xbox and if you have a controller you can use on your phone you can pretty much play any game. Seems the 360 games are a bit of a pain in comparison to the newer games but yeah I’m having a lot of fun with it.

Oh wow that’s pretty cool! Do you have to be within range of your Xbox? I have ps5 anyway but not sure if that feature is on it either.

Nope don’t need to be close I was playing it at work, it uses your own phone data though so not like you can play for very long stints if you aren’t using wifi.

All the more better if it’s a native PS5 version. Between this upgrade for Fallout 4 and the one for Skyrim, Bethesda has the right idea to upgrade 8-10 year old game and still make them free upgrades.

There's only so many times one can sell marginal remasters before they're called out on their bullshit.

But good on Bethesda here.

Oh cool, will definitely play again on PS5. I've tried a few times recently but the frame rate itself is a killer and I just go back and play it on PC.

Yeah, this is a good time to play the game again. I played it once at release and will definitely be playing the PS5 upgrade.

Will this be the last "fallout" we get on PS5? Just realised I don't actually own the game anymore - sold it when I redeemed the PS Plus version. Fingers crossed the update attaches to that

76 could do with some love too as the frame rate is jarring.
the issue with 76 is the fact that the game feels too lifeless

It's not as bad with all the updates to date. When I play it I mostly play it as a builder though. I don't do a lot of activities, I'm just there trying to build a cool base 😎
You’ve just described my 76 life. Actually didn’t mind it back in the day with friends. The thing that annoyed me were how quests work in a group. It seemed very much like 3 separate people doing the quest. As opposed to a Destiny fireteam where it’s evident you’re a team.

Yeah I might throw it back on

The issue is I never really got into the whole base building thing. Even in FO4 I just did it to a minimum standard to progress
