I know Peter Rosethorn is a famous fan, but was wondering if anyone could think of any others?

One other that springs to mind is ABC radio sports commentator, Peter Walsh.

Andrew Gaze

Damien Fleming - worked for SEN over the Summer, and was always talking about "us" down at Hawthorn. :thumbsu:

Alicia Molik - well, she's supported every team at one point or another.

The late great Joe Brown, legendary longtime ABC racecaller when Aunty was involved with the gallops. Those were the days ... Joe rarely could get to a game as the races and (then) VFL clashed on Saturday arvos. However, he made up for it by being one of the regular weekday drinkers at the social club bar ... had many an ale with Joe.

Peter Landy, retired Ch7 sportscaster - specialized in footy, tennis and rowing at the Olympics.

Steve Quartermain present day sportscaster at Ch10.

And can anyone recall Gary Crosby, Bing's son, being a regular at Glenferrie training when he visited Australia for gigs. He loved the Hawks and kept a watch on match results when he returned to the US, scant as it was to receive anything Ozz in news over there in those days.

There are / were more famous fans over the years. I will post them as they come to mind.

Gary Neiwand - At least he would be persistent and would never give up.

Mark Phillipoussis - some competition for Croady and Mitchell on the footy trip

Graeme Shirley Strachan - deceased singer of Skyhooks

I have a picture of myself with Shirley at a Hawks v Swans game at the SCG (late 90's), just before his accident. He had a broken arm at the time. He seemed like a nice bloke and a very vocal supporter.

RIP Shirl

He was a very nice guy. I bumped into him at a Hawks practice session one very cold winter's evening and we were having a chat. He wasn't just talking back, he made it sound like we were old friends. Nothing pretentious about Shirls, a genuine nice guy.

What about Australian sprinter Tamsyn Lewis? I think she said she was a Hawks fan. I know she did her weights training in the Hawks gym.

Tamsyn Lewis can't make her mind up. She was a Hawk as her brother Justin and Mother & Father, Greg and Caroline are well-known members and former president of the coterie group. Whoever is doing better of Hawthorn, Kangaroos and St Kilda.

Simon Marshall has been a guest keynote speaker at a Hawthorn fund raising function but certainly has never been no. 1 ticket holder.

In fact he barracks for the Saints.

I'm pretty sure Simon Marshall the jockey was a number 1 ticket holder a few years ago.
He has bought a membership for at least the last 20 years. I have sat near him at many Hawthorn games. He is a very passionate Hawk.

Johnny Famechon!

I think Mark Phullofpizzas is actually Carlton. He just did a photo shoot in a Hawthorn jumper when Pat Cash was coaching him.

That surprises me. I'll check it out with a reliable source, maybe Simon himself. I have always understood he is a Sainter.

I apologise if I am wrong.

I'll get back on this.
