do the crowd censures have anything to do with where the TV cameras and mics are located or is it happening all over the ground? the AFL after all, seems to be slave to the networks.

Footy's come a long way, I remember seeing fight just about every match at Vic Park, even at the G now and then in the early-mid 90s. Footy fans today are lucky it rarely happens anymore.

Sounds to me like this guy has been a massive dick in the past, but did nothing wrong on Monday. Perhaps his past caught up with him and he was told to chill out before he went so far as to warrant getting kicked out. If this teaches him to never go as far as yelling out c-words left, right and centre anymore then perhaps it's a good thing, but not a good thing for the media to be go rummaging through his Twitter trash and digging up old crap which is irrelevant to this particular event. I'd still rather sit next to this guy at the footy than some tool like Hutchy, Barrett or that bald-headed flog Robbo.

I would imagine this is a reaction to the brawls that regularly break out at games among the crowd. It's always happened, but now half a dozen people are streaming it live on their phones and you can see frightened children screaming as drunk arseholes flail away at each other, or catch the replay on youtube/FB/Twitter. It's a different world and they don't know how to handle it

Might be better to stop Serving Alcohol then to stop these Drunk Idiots

I’ve gone years and years to the footy.
Maybe I’m just lucky, have never witnessed one fight?

People have, I take it?

Seen a few odd bods get too over the top, but usually they get managed by the crowd around them who indicate time to shut their pie hole.

I also never seen a Fight. Though seen a Argument between People

Good idea, only sell drinks during breaks and not the during game. Too bad if they have to queue and miss part of the game.

I’d put that in the category of threatening language, so not good. The fan behaviour I’m ok with can be loud and passionate and completely one-sided, but not violent or intimidating. There is a line and your quote above crosses it.

Well then you would Kick about Half the Ponsford Stand out of the Ground IF you are going to Kick people out for saying F**K and Just as many say C**T

Agree with the excpetion that is was only 9 months ago that he posted that stuff

But Selwood does drop to his knee's like a 2 dollar hooker looking for free's (the 2nd part was him clearly making crude humour) and how many children are following this guy on twitter to scare them. I apologise in advance if my re-posting of his comment offends "sex workers" who make $2 dollars.

And Essendon fans defend the clubs doping program and likely have tweeted or said something to him to garner a response.

The guy makes some valid points and tweets need context to see what he is responding to.:D

170 k attended three games in Melbourne last round. Out of that, there has been a handful of incidents relating to over zealous security. With at least one of these incidents the patron in question had a history of nasty anti social behaviour

And we're whining about PC and banning alcohol. Really....

I'll wait for a far greater sample before declaring society's demise

Whilst bad language overall not something that bothers me too much, it is a family environment and people should be cognisant with that.

Its one to football’s great pleasures, seeing families with their kids.
The new Collingwood fans emerging, love it.

Family's should know there going to be Passionate Fans and Swearing comes with it.

Maybe they should have Family Friendly Seats then for the Families who want Quiet

So Joffa will not be going anymore....

Ok.

He actually does good community work, but not sure so much emphasis on one person is that good for us.

I thought Collingwood did NOT have a Number 1 Supporter

The bloke in question has been exposed as a liar (and an idiot for being too dumb to remove some of that stuff from his Twitter 'page', when he might have known someone would be checking up on him!).

Check out the video here: https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl...-abusive-language-before-20190612-p51x1c.html

But in September 2018, he uploaded a video of himself and a friend at the footy screaming "F--- you, you f---ing c---s, let's go" with the caption "F--- these c---s".

I wouldn't want to be sitting near him! It does seem likely that he behaved himself on Monday, but as he has acted badly in the past, the police stepped in and warned him this time.

Unfortunately, even though this damning evidence has come out, and the AFL released a statement saying (among other things) "There has been no directive from the AFL to change this." and "In season 2019 there has been no change to the expectations of the behavior of everyone at games." there'll still be people (I'm not referring to you, BTW) who prefer to think that the AFL is the bad guy in all of this!!

I can't believe you yellow bellies are stopping so far short and only wanting to be able to abuse umpires verbally. Why shouldn't I be able to jump the fence and belt an umpire in the chops if he pays a free against us. It's a free country for christ sake. Hound them all out of the game I say. Bloody PC crowd

Im talking about the stuff on his twitter account that some are commenting on, and think people are being precious if those 2 comments I quoted from twitter are deemed reprehensible behaviour.

Yes going off ya top at the footy like in that video is not appropriate but there have been innumerable witnesses to him doing no wrong on this occasion to warrant the current BF criticism or media witch hunt of him.
