Good point, no idea how Tyson's pre season is coming along but Michie is a year older than Tyson and was playing some very strong footy (stat wise) in the WAFL last season so I guess people believe he has a higher scoring potential than Tyson (at least for the up and coming season).

Got both! :D

How has no one mentioned Murphy yet?

Until he can prove that he can score well whilst copping the tag every week, I won't be going near him. I understand that he has broken the tag in the past but that was when he had Judd to share the main tagger with. Now he is the main target and will every week.

He cracked the 100 just 9 times in his 23 games last year. He also went through a stretch of 9 games with a highest score of 93.

He isn't an overly big tackler and is more of an outside player (can go inside and isn't soft, but still outside) which taggers are more effective on.

Add to that the fact that he is coming off a very poor year and is only in the second year of dealing with the captaincy and I just can't bring myself to select him. He might make a bit of money but I'm just not convinced that he will be consistent enough DT wise.

And yes Carlton supporters, I have heard all about his apparent knee injury last year. I'm just not sure it effected him as much as it's been played out as his running and movement seemed reasonably fine for the majority of the year.

Buddy and Chappy seem pretty cheap. Both at new clubs with diffrent roles. Should do well!
also considering Majak Daw as F6 if hes fit. Also DPP which is handy

Not sold on Buddy. Has always been a lead up forward and not great overhead. Tends to give a lot of free kicks away when in a contest. I can see him struggling on the smaller ground without the same amount of space to lead into.

Chappy I do like but wondering about vests.

Just a few of the top of my head. Dale Thomas, Matt Suckling, Luke Parker, Dayne Zorko and I'm sure there is much more! Discuss!

And I have added a poll that will close when DT opens Tommorow. :)
Whys Luke Parker in this category? Don't really know too much about him to be honest. Is he expected to have another massive improvement?

Blicavs - extra preseason, games sense etc - also will be playing on the wing/swing man as dawson/Hmac are fit. Is playing in the Ruc in dt but will essentially be a mid.
Rhyce shaw - cheap possibility only 246, has been a proven performer
LRT - 146, good option for the bench, DPP
J. Polec 146, not much to loose, has dropped a minute off his 3km time trial, noticeably bigger and is training the house down.
X ellis 145, not much to loose, big up side
Dunstan , will be the best performer from last years draft IMO
D.Sheed , see dunstan
N Bock, 146, proven performer
Longer, will get game time. Decent bench option.
Westhoff - all dependent if trengrove and one of shaw/butcher step up to fill CHF. If this happens he will play permanent winger/swingman and will average 100 pts.
Mitch Clark - only 213, now has a midfield that can actually get the ball to him (not saying well, but the ball should actually get down there this season), will also have dawes and hogan down there making sure he isn't the only target. Throw in a few cameos from fitzpatrick and its not a bad forward line.

Anyone else looking at Brandon Ellis?

Lost his defender status, not super cheap @ 429k, but definitely undervalued given his scoring potential due to early sub games last year. Shouldn't get a tag often either.

Tempted as an early season POD and possible stepping stone to Ablett.

Losing the defender status was inconvenient, but still think he is a good pick when you look at his round by round last year.
One of the first selected in my team and he's still there, I really like him and he's good value.

While I agree he could be a great pick I really dislike people priced around that mark. Its a fair chunk of cash to spend and that creates extra risk and less reward with the pick. If he guns it yes you have a point of difference but you only saved 80k which is not nearly as game changing as when you find the 300k player that guns it. If you can find 80-100k initially you can get a proven player.

Bastinac is another I really like but is in this price range. For me I will target these players in draft leagues rather than in salary cap leagues.
