Do you know where in Canada? If its Toronto or southern Ontario he could be playing in the oldest continuous league in the northern hemisphere. That would be bit of of a coup for AFL Ontario. He probably would get a job out of it as there are plenty of Aussie management types involved in the league. He's not turning 30 until mid next year so he is eligible to apply for those 2 year work visas Aussies between 18 and 30 can get, meeting some very basic requirements. Haha I reckon my Port supporting mate on the executive team at Barrick Gold could probably help out. There is a reciprocal visa for young Canadians to work in Oz.He will either be playing for South next year or living in Canada with his brother.
Broadbent heads South.

Probably a job with one of their sponsors.Surely there is more to it than playing?

He's too slow for AFL level footy.would of thought someone would have picked him up as DFA, 100% AFL quality still. One of the only players on our list who actually made good decisions and would hit a target.
Maybe him taking time away for mental health kept clubs away? Hope that wasnt the case.
Matty signing with South Adelaide instead of WWT is a bit of a surprise.
He was ok when he could zone off, get out in space and chip it around, but he got found out when he had to run chase and tackle. The game has passed him by for he lost the pace and that is it. Will be a good player at sanfl level for South.would of thought someone would have picked him up as DFA, 100% AFL quality still. Since Port won its last SNAFL flag in 1999, everyone of the other clubs have won a flag except for south. crows don't count.1964. It's the SNAFL's one remaining fairytale...
