I've liked all 3 but season 1 is the clear standout for mine. Like someone just said, BillyBob/Lorne Malvo. Martin Freeman/Lester no slouch either.

I really loved season 3 - I thought the English guy was a more Coenesque villian than the others, maybe including Billy Bob in season 1 (who admittedly was phenomenal). And although I didn't rate season 2 quite as highly as the others, it was more to do with not really liking the overall plotline rather than the aliens, which for me, fit perfectly with the rest of the Coen Brothers universe.

Alien scene in s2 was beyond dumb. Apart from those 2 mins it's the best of 3 seasons. Hanzee Dent was brilliant.

Agree. The alien scene was unbelievably stupid. But the rest of it was utterly brilliant.

I always just assumed Fargo were stories passed down from person to person and that along the way someone for whatever reason made up the alien bit.

I liked all three, season 1 and 2 hard to separate. I think I liked the performances in season 2 more, plenty of menace. Bokeem Woodbine was amazing.

I want a Mike Milligan spin-off.

That was a bloody good show/series.

Don't know if I like the was Lorne was killed by Gus. Was fairly predictable which was disappointing. Surely they could have come up with a much better way to kill him.

A couple of questions though

* Stavros buries the cash in the snow and then sees his son dead in the car crash because of the fish falling from the sky. What happens to the cash? and what is the point of his story arc as he just disappears from the show after this
* I assume that each series has a total new cast in a totally new area?

Season 1 the best for mine too. Season two the villains were cliched and done before.

Season one was amazing. Dark and at times funny.

Two was good. Haven’t seen the aliens bit for a while but if I recall it had to do with Dunst’s character being the narrator of the scene and an unreliable narrator.

I’m actually watching three again. It’s a lot lighter but I actually really enjoy it. Didn’t mind the change of pace. It did feel a bit like a retread at times but McGregor, Thewlis and Winstead were awesome.

Glad they waited for four and hopefully it’s fresh. A bit of a break won’t hurt.

That's some foreshadowing. The controversial scene (which I actually enjoyed) is much later in the season.
