I am starting this thread because in my new opinion (probably with slight bias) i do believe with Ports list and more direct game-plan that they are the fastest team in the comp, be it leg speed or ball movement. How do they compare to other fast teams in the comp like Essendon, Western Bulldogs Richmond etc?

Leg speed: Essendon.
Ball movement: Geelong.

Essendon have Lovett, Davey, Jetta, Dempsey and Winderlich who are very quick with there leg speed, that's just off the top of my head and players who I think are in our best 22.

Who cares really?
I care that Carlton finally has some legspeed.

Grigg, Simpson, Yarran, Walker, Hampson, Armfield, Anderson, Judd, Russell, Betts and the rookies Garlett, Hill and Joseph are quick.

Even Bower, Kreuzer, Jamison, Austin and Waite are quick and can rebound.

We're moving the ball alot cleaner and faster than we used to.

The ball didn't even hit the deck after we took the ball from half back against the Cats and Yarran finished.

I don't care if we're not leg speed quick: just as long as the ball movement is fast and ultimately we get the win.

If it's ball movement, clearly Hawthorn, or Geelong when on top.

Leg speed is another matter entirely, but Hawks would be down the wrong end. Our KPP are generally quick, but the majority of our players are just average (Bateman, Young, Willo, Rioli, Franklin genuinely quick).

there's no surprise why i agree with you but i think we are the fastest team, i don't believe Richmond are that quick tho, kind of surprised how many votes they have polled.

Yeah Deledio, White, Foley, Mcmahon, Tambling, Raines, Jackson etc are so slow arent they...

I would have to say Richman. Richman are very fast. The fastest team would have to be Richman. I think Richman are faster than the Bombers and the Bulldogs. In terms of which is the fastest team, I would have to say Richman.

Essendon are probably slightly ahead of the Dogs and Tiges in terms of leg speed but can't use it anywhere near aswell.

Richmond have done very well in the last 4 grand final sprints and the guys that won them are generally very important parts of our midfield.

Port did not have a direct game plan last year, so I can't say we're up there for ball movement, unfortunately.

As for legspeed, we're pretty good - shaun burgoyne, peter burgoyne, pettigrew, pearce, rodan and krakouer constantly utilise their's (probably forgetting some others)

would prefer faster ball movement than faster legspeed though
