Father-son

Is a big miss - but it is likely that we would have been forced to give up our first round pick for him in any case.

It would still be a win though. Lets say someone's willing to take Matera at pick 3, and we have pick 7, we'd be getting a good deal. And if we had a shocking season and ended up with pick 4 and someone wanted to take Matera with pick 5, we'd get him with our 2nd round pick.

The biggest "miss" for a potential father son draftee may well be Brandon Matera. I believe Wally played 146 games for South. May well have played the 4 needed but his talents were being wasted by Fitzroy and the w***ers up the road

Wouldnt giving wally's younger more talented brother to the w***ers down the road be a miss?

Lists for the state underage squads are out. Can't see many familiar names there that could be father-son.

There is a Regan playing in the 16's. Possible relation of the late, great Con Regan who was also our inaugural team manager. Too young to be Con's son though.

Adam Carter - possible son of the Carters that played for the Bulldogs? Noel Carter played 150+ games for Souths so his sons qualify.

There are a few familiar Eagles names - McIntosh/Matera (another one) and Mckenna - although not sure if any are sons of past players.

Another Chris Yarran coming through!

I'd say Shane Nelson is Craig Nelson's son. He was a pretty agile West Perth big man, Shane looks to be a bit lighter framed though.

Sorry, Andrew Lockyer.

Actually, he only played 78 games with West Coast and 145 games with East Fremantle!

Turns out Jordan Lockyer is Andrew's son. So it looks like he would be available to us IF his old man had played an extra 5 games with Easts!!!!!!!!

A little bit of cash and next year he could play those 5 extra games. Win win for all.

How old is he? No Sandilands in the U16 squad just out. Hopefully we're keeping him quiet so we can rookie him later on.

unfortunately every recruiter in the country is watching him with interest. He could not possibly fly under the radar (hell, if he's taller than Aaron, he would have to commando crawl under it)

Anyone know a former Perth player called Lindsay Carter?

Some guys on the West Coast forum are saying his son, Adam Carter, who is one of the 17 year olds that has nominated for the mini draft, is his son and a potential father-son pick for us.

Can anyone confirm that Lindsay played 150 games for Perth?

Adam sounds like a pretty good player.

Surely if he's potential F/S he wouldn't be nominating for the mini draft if we'd shown any interest?

Not unless he wants out of WA for some reason.
