Good grief, me agreeing with a Collingwood supporter. Fed. Sq. is the most significant, best designed, most aesthetically pleasing public building constructed in Victoria my lifetime. Haven't been to the bars for a couple of years. They weren't bad, but a bit exe. Not everyone will agree with our assessment of the place.

Fed Square architecture, in my opinion, is amazing. I love the interior spaces aswell as the exterior.

Was there last night. Awesome time at the ABC 75th birthday party.

Went there for the first time when the commonwealth games were on. It was packed.

Hit the nail. Melbourne had been trying to create a city square for 40 years before Fed Sq. happened. That abortion where the Grollos' hotel now stands was the most ill-conceived public space ever devised, and was duly ignored by everyone.

The Potter Gallery is a great arts space. This whole complex will be retained long past its use-by date, because of the unique and beautiful design, combined with the singularly innovative and ultimately appropriate materials they chose to use. That the young architects who designed it were given the job, speaks well of the Kennett government. That's almost unique in itself.

Went their last year after the grand final for dinner at some chinese place - great food. There were eagle flags everywhere that night, atmosphere was great. Unfortunately was the place where I lost my WEG poster like 4 hours after I bought it
From what I saw when I walked past it the next day, it looks great by daylight.

I am also a fan.

However I have one criticism about the open public space. On hot days there is not enough shade/greenery. It really bakes there.

Fed Sq is awesome. As for the arcitecture... Have a look at Perth's Perth Arena. Some striking simularities.
