The unnecessary angst is coming from the people crying sexism over that issue. It's a nothing story about some kids who want to change their school dress code but it's shared around with "you go, girl" sentiments and gets recognition as some kind of noble feminist cause. Exactly. In no way did I say that the words are the same, but to suggest that there is some gendered issue behind them, while being provided examples of those words applying to men is ludicrous. There is a few posters here who go out of there way to search for sexism that isn't there

This thread is getting quite amusing but I would be interested if you could give some examples of males where the words immodest and provocative in relation to what they are wearing so that I can see the difference.

My school would send males home for having tears in clothing, swearing or offensive things on clothing

I think my place of employment is sexist. Women are allowed to wear skirts and dresses, but guys can't wear shorts. It's obvious that it's a sexist policy because men can't show skin

Neither examples you posted would be considered provocative nor immodest.

Kids go to school (that don't have a uniform policy) with tears in jeans and tees all the time, it is fashionable.

Do you understand what provocative means? You know it has multiple meanings, yes?

Try understanding the word before being condescending.

As I said my schools policy used that exact wording. And sent home students for the above reasons.

How is any of this a victim complex? saying it happens to both sides and the words apply to all. That would be the opposite of a victim complex.
