If he left how much would it cost US?

It would depend on whether a) Carlton pay out his contract fully meaning it will cost us 500k a year or b) Carlton pay out some of his contract and leave the recieving club to pay the rest but then his trade value becomes less as he has a contract hanging over his head.
Either way he lose out meaning it just isn't worth trading him at the moment.

What is Fev actually on? I thought it was reported as 1.1 million over three years. If so, that's cheaper than what Melbourne are offering Lance (i.e. 400000 a year but over two years).
Is the cost too high in terms of the picks we want or in terms of what other teams are willing to pay Fev in dollars?

Fev wont leave between his contract and his attitude, most clubs will be put off. As for lance if he wants to go, we should let him go, lets get the best trade or pick we can for him, he played well this year, but what about the 2 years before that, if he wants to go over 50k , well let him go and lets move on and up, id rather a player who wants to play for us, than one who doesnt.Same goes for campo and lappin.

It's all working out for the best. Whitnall is being traded while he still has some value, and we're keeping our gun forward.

Exactly, and lets hope we get someone good during the trade week or in the pss.

ITs a bit of both. Frankly if a club offed Carlton top first round picks for Fev it just isn't worth it considering the draft is shallow, we could pick up duds and thus lose a potential 100+ goalkicker.

Also, we probably won't get anybody that great in trade week or in the PSD due all major names now being resigned including Bartel, Power and Salopek. Would love to get Ferguson from the Demons though in a trade involving LAnce :D

thats right its all a gamble- drafting and trading

we might also pick up a gun and lose a perenial underacheiver who will never kick more than 66 a season in his career

you just don't know

dal santo went at 13, j kelly at 17 although in a so called "stronger" draft
kerr at 18, coughlan at 25 in a "shallow" draft

If kicks 66 goals for the next 10 years I won't be complaining. Trust me though, when Carlton's midfield goes on the rise and starts winning games he'll be kicking 80-100 goals and winning Colemans.

That's the thing with Fev isn't it.

When the side is up and running and everything is going well, he excels.
But as we have seen, when things are against him and the side struggles, he gives us his worst.

Now all we need to do is get him a midfield that excels and provides good opportunity. :D

Well unfortunately at his position, he requires people to give him the ball.

I wouldnt trade Fev until next year coz next years draft is stronger. This gives him a year to prove himself.

Good news if he does stay. Hopefully Fev can concentrate more on his footy and become one of the leading forwards in the league. It seems that if he just put in that little extra effort to stay focused, he would be up there at the top of the coleman leaderboard. It would be stupid to trade him before he's proven himself.

Hasn't he had long enough to prove himself, and the actual chances of him figuring in the top goalkickers starts with his attitude towards football, which is not great as it is, as evidenced by his fighting words with John Nicholls, one of Carlton's most respected former players, he may be a very talented player, but he's only a couple of indiscretions away from ending up like Laurence Angwin, minus the drugs and stealing.

Yeah he's a little like Adolf Hitler without the murder, biggotry and invasion tendencies.

Show me the evidence.
Caroline Wilson is not adequate evidence.

How happy are people going to be when Fev kicks ten goals against the blues ? How happy are you going to be when like murphy he stops us from entering the finals etc.
The hardest thing about footy is getting a champion FF, we have one ? ALL fullforwards are stroppy bastards, Dermot, Plugger, Abblett etc, etc. Yeah there are some great leaders down front but no need to be ridiculous.
Fev stays and we put up with the antics.
