HUN reporting Sydney recruiters watching Casey lose today (and watching Fev closely).

He had a dirty day.
He did a great job sitting in the goalsquare and sooking when the ball didn't get bombed to him.

He's a Carlton legend and will be remembered as so.

No he's not a legend. Anthony Koutifides, Stephen Kernanhan, Stephen Silvagni, Craig Bradley, Peter Dean, Greg Wiliams, Bruce Doull, Wayne Johnston. Players like these were legends. They played for the club, not themselves. They had PREMIERSHIP success. This is what makes our football club legends.

Fevola was a good player, not a great. I hope he does well for himself post-football. But this good player's time is done.

People will remember him as an idiot more than a forward kicking 99 goals in a year.

Was taken in by the romantic notion of Fev coming back and winning 17 with us.

But he is a lost cause, too much history.

He may tone it down from time to time but he will never get rid of his demons.

I now realise it was the best thing for the club and this is without hearing all the things that he used to get away with.

He is a gun player who is destined never to win a premiership because talent even an abundance of it is not enough.

Look at Judd.

So what you are saying is that Fev has talent?

You've clearly missed the major issue here, but I'm not sure why I'm surprised. Talent (or a lack of it) has never been his issue.

Kudos to him though. 8 goals in a rubbish league is an outstanding effort and a clear indication that he's ready to put all his shit behind him and return to the top flight. :thumbsu:

Wonder if he managed to stay clean in amongst the heat and celebrations.
Fevola would have been great with the kids and his teammates after the game.

It's a shame that Brendan didn't get the chance to run amok in Doha after a bender.

Fev would have kept his teammates entertained for hours by farting and lighting his farts in the oxygen depleted altitude rooms.

Would be awesome if Fev came back, got his act together and played an important part in our 17th-19th flags, but .............the reality is it just won't happen. He destroyed too many relationships with people in power, and our list has progressed massively since then in terms of structure, talent levels and professionalism. The standards are just too high at Carlton now. He had a chance too improve himself along with the rest of the playing group, but blew his opportunity. There's a lot of very talented footballers on our list who have devoted several years towards their premiership goal. The Club won't let one player sabotage that now. Too risky.

Having said that, he still could play a role at one of the inferior clubs. Hope someone picks him up. He could easily kick 70 goals per season at AFL level still. Frontrunner's - StKilda, Bulldogs, and maybe even Failurewood or Essendon. Richmond are always on the look-out for a quick fix, so you can't rule them out either. Going to be fun watching the speculation heat up.

:)

Can't believe people still cling to the Fevola dream, we;re a serious football side now, professional and a real premiership threat, the last thing we need is an a sociopath like Fevola back amongst our young guys, he fried too many bridges, and we don;t know even a quarter of what really went on with him at the club, also our game style has moved on from the one dimensional, kick to it to me Fevola style....

I too doubt if anyone will pick him up, damaged goods and imagine the media circus...

Look I could see him back at the club in a role say, working in the creche with the kids or similar....

Get over it people and close the thread I say
