PORT Adelaide is not opening its doors to Coleman Medallist forward Brendan Fevola.

The Power's football department is rejecting the supposed marketing bonus of signing the discarded Carlton and Brisbane key forward, emphasising it wants to be a serious AFL club - and not a circus.

"We've not discussed Brendan's name, so that probably indicates he is not on our agenda," said Port football operations chief Peter Rohde as Fevola supposedly regains currency as an AFL target after his 11-goal haul in the VFL at the weekend.

Just thought I'd drop in to say I loved the comment in today's Advertiser that Port Adelaide was not a circus. Loved it, and that's exactly what it would become if Fevola was to be picked up. Great stuff, you've made the first step to a better Port Adelaide for the future.

If we lose Butcher (which i don't think we will), i think we should get Fev. I know alot of people are against Fev's inclusion, but if we lost the one key forward we are in the process of developing we're going to need a stop-gap for the couple of years it will take to develop a new one. We would be able to list Fev as a mature aged rookie (minimum pay) and, i hate to jinx him, he is improving his personal affairs and has been credited by many in the VFL for his ability to teach the young kids.

43 goals in the past 6 weeks.

Don't think he's a great fit for us but someone is going to start getting twitchy if he keeps that up.
