All good news

tempted to ignore my demo policy

Yeah i would not worry too much about the demo ruining it for you. With two 2 minute halves it is hard to get a real feel for the game.

One cool addition is after you choose your side and its formation it takes you to the loading screen where you kick at the goals with a player on your team that you selected. It counts down 3-2-1 then takes the same player and goalie and transforms into the real game with the crowd so you can keep on playing 1 on 1 against the goalie or go straight into the game.

I'm assusiming Lennox your a 360 man because the PSn update thingys are buggered and all updates are delayed.

Basically there are alot of pissed off ps3 owners. Including me!!!

Just downloaded the demo of the PS Store and im lovin it, i rarely play fifa but ill probly end up buying this one as well as pro evo...

The 10 v 10 club thing was probly the clincher because i prefer playing online than to solo play. And yeh its only bout 740 odd MB so defintly worth the download, cant wait for the release now :D

Yer i am mate.... That sucks about the delay because i was lucky enough last night to get home from work at 5:30WST and it was ready to download. Good fun but 2minute halves goes so quick!

Awesome demo:

Game seems so natural and fluid, noticed this from the very first kick off

Collisions are great, as are all the other little improvements here and there. They all add up and i'm thinking the final release is going to be epic.

Two things I hope are still being fixed. One I hope Chelsea's jersey is fixed, the samsung is pretty much choking them.
Also you could commit a foul and have advantage played for as long as you need, but as soon as theres a break in play, be this 45 minutes or 2 minutes later, the ref will come back and book you.

Minor things that need fixing.

Oh and dont play world class, damn thaths hard. Probably should have gone eaier at that opening screen!

Awesome! This could definitely be the PES killer if 08 wasn't already. The general consensus on the FIFA forums is that the demo is brilliant too. I'm really excited - already have my pre-order set and ready to pick up the day of release and fire up the standard Liverpool Vs Man UTD stoush. :) Carn REDS!

What is the speed of the game like for those that have played the demo? I have heard complaints that it does seem a bit fast. Hopefully any gripes with the demo EA can polish with the final release. I'm also pretty sure the graphics will look better as a demo would have to be a reasonable size for download.

On another note the quality of sports titles this year is amazing. Madden 09, NBA 2K9 (which just looks sublime at this stage) and now FIFA 09... It's going to be a great year online. :)

Too little cash too many games to buy... :D

Will 09 finally be the version they put gameplay ahead of graphics and licencing?

Knowing EA Sports, I'd doubt it.

If you can judge a game on the amout of "Wow" moments you experience, than this is one of the best I've ever played, yet still a demo!

1) Ashley Cole v Ronaldhino: Ronny steps over, then nutmegs Cole. Cole rocks his head back, as if to say "Oh bugerr" then turns to chase. I forgot it was a game for a second.

2) Corner comes in, ball headed away falls to Joe Coles chest. He tries one from 26 yards or so. Keeper is completely wrong footed and can only watch as the ball whistles past him... into the post! The crowd groan, and the keeper has a sigh of relief.

3) After sustaining pressure on Real for the best part of the half, a 90th minute corner flies in. Ballack calls for the ball, and points to the area he wants his run. lampard misses this, sending it about a metre behind Ballack. Ballack turns, and unleashes a bicycle kick that smacks into the side of the net. The team mug him before he has time to get up.

4) Lampard dances around one man, and slots Drogba into what looks to be an open goal. He dribbles ahead, and is surely in a one on one. Until all of a sudden, a Toronto defender (name escapes me), comes flying in from the side for a last ditch crack at glory. Drogba is polaxed, both legs being sweeped from under him, he almost does a complete somersault. Drogba jumps up and begins pushing the defender, before the ref comes in, points to the spot, and issues the red card. The Toronto players plead with the Australian ref, who is not having a bar of it. Lampard calmly strolls to the spot, smashes home the penalty, and jogs to the corner post, before droppping to his knees in celebration.

And this is just a demo. Good god!!!

Where did you read Be A Pro is coming to PES?? I never knew that!

Here you go mate:

http://au.gamespot.com/pc/sports/pe...&om_clk=newsfeatures&tag=newsfeatures;title;3

And the quote from it for those not wanting to read the massive hands on article.

The big new gameplay mode for Pro Evolution 2009 is Become a Legend mode, in which you'll pick an individual attacking player and take him through a professional football career. If you perform well as part of a team, you'll attract offers from other clubs, but if you lose the ball and fail to set up goals, you'll receive a low mark at the end of the game. Cynics might suggest that this closely resembles FIFA's Be a Pro mode, but Konami assures us that the Pro Evolution equivalent has been around for some time in the Japanese Winning Eleven series. Unlike in FIFA, though, you can't call for the ball when you want it, which makes the mode more challenging than we initially expected. If you're playing for a lowly club, you're limited by your teammates, while your lack of tactical input means that you'll end up sitting on the bench for some games.

There are some interesting screenshots of this mode too.

Oh wait, this was a FIFA thread.

Oops.

81% downloaded on the PS3. How long did it take everybody else? If I knew it was going to take this long I would have waited until tonight.

Not to bad. Played on normal and lost 1-0 in all 3 of my games. 2mins is way to short, only manage to get 1 or 2 shots on goal. The gameplay is alright, although the 'pass meter' is pointless as the only way to avoid a 50/50 ball is to pass at close to full power.

ANyone know weather the crowd will be better animated, etc, than previous previous.
The weather, like in EURO 2008, has been changed, and now the condition of the pitch is effected by weater. Basicall if its wet, the ball slips and slides and gets heavier. Just like in real life. (although just read you didn't ask that lol)
The crowds have been redone, with fan sections holding banners and scarves behind the goals, and actually wearing that teams colours. Crowd is individually animated, so some spectators jump out of their seats, whilst others stay down.
The demo gives a good feel for the noise, because there is no commentry. Much more reactive to events in the match. They groan for a near miss and applaud good passing play.

Took me about half an hour or so. Pain in the arse, but worth it.

Regularly winning in world class now (1-0 of course) but cant wait to play full games, 4 minutes just isnt enough.

Yep the 2 min halves are a bit annoying, doesn't give you time really. Looks good, I might even get PES and FIFA. FIFA for the added depth (go Cardiff) and my mate just got a PS3 and is a FIFA nut so we will be playing online. Only a couple of weeks till it's out?
