there are so many little extras added to the game its great.
such as the single minute changes for the halves.... about time they gave ur more options the other day. me and 3 mates played 7min halves on mulitplayer the other day... was a gd length

what version is this for ? on my ps2 version i can't change times by single minutes :confused:

I play World Class when playing normal games against the computer, I just started Be a Pro Seasons in the single player and since im still gettin the hang of Be A Pro i play professional difficulty, made a midfielder/winger and joined the Melbourne Victory.

Took me approx half a season to make it from reserves to the starting lineup and then i still managed to top score in the league (altho alot of that came from scoring 6 against Perth Glory in an 8-0 romp :p ). Just called up to the Australia squad as well, bastards gave me number 95!!!

Victory won the league and I was courted by a few clubs but the 2 that caught my eye were either Rangers first squad or Villareal reserves...decided to head for the Scots (i know its stupid but i need first team football!!! :D )


In our first game against Inverness Caledonian Thistle i had an appaling first half and was rated the worst player on the pitch then fired back in the 2nd to score 5 goals :eek: (yet i still wasnt MoTM, go figure).

So far its been my favourite mode apart from playin online, gonna keep playin till i can fulfill my dream of scoring a hat-trick for the Gunners....soon soon

Is this just in the PS3 version, or can you do it on the PS2 as well?

Not sure what's happened in my game. I used to have mainly 0-0 or 1-0 but now there are goals going in. I'm also quite a bit better which does help. I played my first online game and got spanked 3-0 but missed a sitter to make it 1-1, then went back to my United game and have won 4 on the trot including Berbatov scoring in the last minute to beat Liverpool 1-0 and just came from behind to beat Bolton away 1-2.

It is much more enjoyable now I have the hang of it a little but there are still a few funny things, like some players do the crab walk instead of getting the ball and keepers don't seem to come out enough. Even when I bring them out it seems very risky.

Yeah mate after playing over the weekend i can say i was enjoying it alot less and found some silly little things that really annoyed me. Like when there is a loose ball to be won sometimes my closest player won't even make a run for the ball (if i try to hit L1 it doesn't choose the right player). Some little unresponsive bugs like that started really frustrating me.

Coming from the Pro evo franchise i am use to really close and reactive controls that have made playing that game alot of fun.

However last night i was starting to get at better at pro level on FIFA and even started using the trick stuff to evade defenders etc.

I'm getting there but may take 4 days of solid playing till i go back online and avoid the thrashings im getting
 
I use 8 minute halves. I think 15-20 'real' minutes is a good game time for any sports games I play eg. 4-5 minute quarters on NFL, 5-6 minute periods on NHL etc.
 
Does anyone have any tips on how to beat the Man United/Chelsea bashers? I find it so hard to contain Christiano Ronaldo and Drogba for some reason...

Are there any custom tactics that wold help me defend this two players properly. I find Drogbas strength incredibly hard to contend with one on one and Christiano Ronaldos speed a real headache.

For Ronaldo play a 5-3-2 and never commit when he runs at you, just defend the space, not the player.

On Drogba I'd try and sit off him and just concede he'll win all the balls in the air and maybe play a DM so you have some pressure on any player he knocks the ball down to.

Yeah every now and then I will slip back into Pro Evo mode, the close control does seem to be lacking a bit at times but there is a huge difference between the two football games so it will take a lot of getting used to.

L1 does frustrate me when I have to press it 4 or 5 times before I get the play I want and sometimes by then it's too late.

Apparently a patch is coming out either this week or next to fix that "crab walk" thing, apparently it mainly happens on lob passes. It boggles the mind that they didn't pick that up in testing!

Lucky, I tried to get mine yesterday, went to JB and EB, sold out, but its ok because JB were going to get like 100 copies in today, so in I stroll at about 1:30pm(As they said it was coming in around midday), nup not there apparently it is Labour Day in Sydney and that is where they get the games shipped from.

So I will have to call up tomorrow before going in to see if they have a copy, am getting very tempted each time I walk in to get NHL '09 instead, but I love the FIFA demo so much that I am really wanting to get the game, not to mention the 10+ other games coming out in the next couple of months I want, but won't get.

hmm, interesting. I got mine about 1:30 today. The JB on Lonsdale was sold out, but I trekked upto the Bourke street store, and they had heaps.

Bloody great game, online real good and fun, team play is pretty good but ya gotta get used to it and manager mode is good aswell.

Haven't tried the adidas live season but this game is gonna last ages good value for money.

Manager mode is good atm but my mate has said that the transfers are unrealistic and 08 manager mode is better, true for people who have gona through the mode a bit?
 
Well I have learnt how to tackle now so Im not as crap as I was a few days ago. I notice in my own games that playing be-a-pro that I can play on a higher difficultly level without any problems but when I control a whole team it feels much harder.

I too play 5 min halves.

god im getting pissed off at the keepers ability lately... i just had 12 shots on target and didnt score once... and of course the opposition score with their one and only shot :thumbsdown:... but thats FIFA for ya.

in saying that played it a mates house today...**** me its good

got up to a ranking of 1500ish in 08 but not sure i can make that in 09
look out late december/ january...there will be a new kid on the block

have u guys all added eachother etc?
i will go through and do it once i get it

Yeah well I went to the Prahran, JB and EB, they're normally pretty good, have gone to the JB in the city a few times and got games 'Sold Out' at other stores, so might have to go into the City if they don't have it today.

shit yea... i HATE trying to defend against Ronaldo online, so much so that sometimes i bail out of the game b4 it starts if i see they are playing as Man U. cus sometimes the person just gives it to him and just makes run after run after run. incredibly lame and frustrating.

but yeah... try and get a defender to come around and block the space... most people arent skilled enough to get around a jockeying defender, u gotta jockey, thats the key, it puts the pressure back on the player/computer.
