None I'd say.

Have to wait until the transfer market is closed to finalise squads.

I'm pretty sure FIFA 12 required an update for final squads. Not that that that means the game will release earlier. They'd just likely need that time for mass manufacturing.

That's because different countries have different transfer windows.

Saying that with under a month to go you would think they have started the printing and packaging.

One final update before creating the game disks.

The squads are always final on release, it comes out late September for a reason. The earliest it ever gets broken is a couple of days, but that hasn't happened for a few years now.

Demo out in a few weeks, desperate to see what it offers.

Hands on review...

Well, today was good.

The first touch is so so hard to get used to. Power has to be just right, anything more and it's bouncing up/off your feet. Pace is really toned down. Kompany was catching up with Walcott and Aguero couldnt outpace Vermaelen!.

Shooting is very different, you can't just hit it with decent power and it flies on target, you have to really be steady, in a bit of space and then you have a chance of a decent long shot.

Takes a lot of getting used to, first few games feel like you're playing with non-league teams.

Then when you go back to FIFA12, you feel like you're playing with Barca because every pass, no matter how powerful just sticks to your players feet.

The skill games looks very fun and it looks like a really good way to learn the stuff. Few examples were cones that you had to hit with passes from a certain range to improve passing. Buckets on the peno spot that you had to cross into, very hard! Cones you had to use the controlled dribbling in and out.

Few nice touches, you can add/take away players from the wall. Creep wall forward(I got 1 yellow in 4 times of doing it), FK's are more advanced, can have 1,2 or 3 standing over it. Can have 1 or 2 dummy runs and you can lay off with a chip, and then go for the volley(Like Wolves/David Jones did vs us!).

When your player is injured, he is either seriously injured(have to sub him off) or just on the touchline injured for a few mins, when he's on the sidelines, the commentators talk to Geoff Shreeves who says stuff like "We think that he's going to be okay, they're saying it's just a minor ankle injury but he should be fine to carry on" etc, then he comes jogging back on. Quite good

Another is it talks about the substitutes which I found quality. Playing with Arsenal(I know!, wanted use all teams though) I had The Ox on my bench, and just after HT the commentators started going on about how Oxlade-Chamberlain would be a great player to bring off the bench because of his pace and technique, then his name/picture comes up on the top left). Also they talk about them in a bad way, saying how Bendter hasn't really livened up to expectation at Arsenal and that's why they're looking to sell him etc. Same for Dzeko at Man City.

The complete dribbling isn't anything amazing, pretty much same as FIFA12, keeps it tight to his feet and you can weave right/left.
2 new fake shots introduced, so now yu have to normal one, the standing one(he shoots but pushes is leg past/over the ball, if that makes sense?) and the turning one, which is basically like Cruyff turn like De Gea did at the weekend.

Attacking Intelligence isn't really noticeable, I never really seemed to be offside but then again I never really tried a lot of through balls because the defenders have improved a lot. No more crossing and players like Robinho/Aguero suddenly being amazing in the air. The defenders and strength have a lot more power/dominance over strikers when a ball comes in, and unless it's a good cross and there's a good player in there for heading it's not worth wacking balls in.

Keepers haven't changed much. Few new saves/animations and some new peno saves but nothing drastic. They seem to be much more real and won't like catch every ball off a corner, they'll struggle sometimes and mis-punch/miss the ball.

That's about it, can't really think of anything else. Arsenal are *, Dortmund/Juventus are pretty immense.

Oh and snow is still a *. Even more so with the first touch

Have they added random crowds. As in if your team is playing crap you will start to see crowd numbers diminish and if you are winning the crowds start growing. Would also like to see lower league teams no matter what stadium they are in have lower crowd numbers and the higher they get the bigger the crowds get. Hate it when I'm playing as a league 2 team and I'm filling out a 30k stadium each game. To add onto this I would love to see the ability to increase the size of your stadium with visible upgrades, starting off with a small 15k stadium and slowly growing it to a 40-50k+ capacity.

That would be good.

I'd rather they make better gameplay than focus on making a crowd look slightly larger or smaller...

No reason why they couldn't do both.

To focus on one, the other has to drop somewhat. There's no covering all bases in game development.

They're already improving crowds in 13 (graphics wise). They've added in players warming up along side the pitch and managers walking up an down during the game, can't see why they can't focus on crowds to make them more realistic. Playing it right now as Melbourne Heart (changed their ground to a stadium more like AAMI) and I get a packed house every game the Heart struggle to get 6-7k at home unless its against Victory. I thought they had this feature in once where crowds fluctuated and crowd numbers actually mattered in career mode? Bring that back where you get money off home attendences depending on your stadium deal and crowd numbers.

I'm pretty sure there already is some sort of crowd fluctuation.

I played as Leeds in '12 and changed the stadium to a bigger one than their default, and when I was in the Championship the crowds looked way smaller than when I made it up to the Premier League. They might not base it off the form of the team but I think the crowds are definetly smaller in lower leagues.

Definitely has been empty seats.

I'm not sure if you get say Leeds into the PL would the crowds get bigger as the club does. That's what I would like to see.

Which would be piss easy to add.

I think for a game series like this it would be relatively easy.

How are you playing this?

Would be good if they had the managers on there like the World Cup version a few years back - obviously pretty hard to do but the major ones would be awesome.

Imagine scoring a winner against United at Old Trafford and seeing Fergie spitting chips on the sidelines!

They've added it to career mode, well atleast you as the manager can be running up and down the sidelines. Not sure if that means they've added Fergie models etc. I would assume they would do the obvious ones of big clubs.

agree...they used to have it in fifa but took it out some years back. I used to love starting in bottom leagues and building up both the quality in the roster and expanding the stadiums....was a nice balancing act

Is Stirling going to be the new must have youngster to buy in? I am just happy that finally Liverpool will have some quality youngsters to start with instead of the old Kop Flops of recent times
