Anywhere doing a midnight launch? Pre ordered mine at EB the other day at Doncaster and the bloke there said they're not doing one this year. I remember between fifa10-14 I used to ring up place a day or two before release and they'd sometimes give it to you earlier.

Turns out I preordered the PS3 version, that certainly was a task to cancel.

Not even sure why there is a PS3 version, and sold for $99.99 on the PS store, same price as PS4 version.

Not even sure why there is a PS3 version,
Because FIFA is huge in those poorer countries and EA still make a killing off it on them because they can't afford to upgrade. I'm pretty sure they made it for PS2 up until FIFA14

Correct.

whoa what, i just assumed the old consoles wouldn't get this one this time around. it seems the only thing missing from the old gen version is the new journey mode, might not need 2 upgrade after all!!

Well the journey mode and the way superior graphics.

The last gen consoles get it but fairly well stripped back, content wise as well as the obvious graphic update.

And I wouldn't put it past EA to start releasing last gen versions as squad updated versions only of the year before which I believe they did with the last PS2 release.

apparently the older versions lack the "adaptive player intelligence and improved physical exertion" gameplay innovations so if the gameplay has been compromised that is significant...! the new engine would probably put the older versions a full gen behind visually too.. i see people complaining about the player switching already which is an annoyance for me about 16, though i thought that came down to me messing with the auto/manual settings too much.

Do people use the R stick to switch? I find pressing L1 is shocking, but using the R stick is a massive improvement, still not perfect, but better than L1

I use a mix, generally at set pieces I use the right stick, but in general play it's L1.

for the career mode players out there, how do you enjoy the mode?

generally pick the teams you support or try and take lower teams to glory?

i always go my club West Ham and have a major focus on youth development, wont really spend money on major signings and will always go buying youth (19 years and under) or scouting the youth team.

That's a good question this year actually. Didn't do a career mode last season but I used to enjoy picking Leicester when we were in the championship and getting them to the premier league.

I'll probably still do a Leicester one in 17 but I also might try a League 1 or 2 side. Maybe Sheffield United (soft spot) or something.

I've always gone Victory but get bored of it and end up going back to FUT. Which is a odd as in 2k I am all over career mode but hate myteam

It would be incredibly boring playing as Victory as there is no progression.

Transfer Victory into the English third division and try to promote them into the Premier League and Champions League, I reckon you'll get heaps more fun out of that.

i would of loved to have the feature where you can also play as your youth team in a competition against other clubs youth teams so you can get more of an idea of how they play before promoting them or even try poaching others before they sign a deal.

Will be buying it for career mode

I like playing as Shakhtar donetsk and then only recruiting Brazilian players( put them into the EPl)

Real Madrid I will sometime play as or even a Portsmouth as well.

I always start with United, then after I've gotten a team of gods I move onto another league, will likely then do Luton Town to get them through the ranks to EPL glory, then go through other countries leagues with sides that don't usually challenge.

You're my hero.

I choose Victory to start with, to get me used to the mechanics of the game, understand what's needed to win, etc. Which usually takes me around about a season or so.

Then I swap to EPL and start a new career. My past few seasons has been with Everton as they've always been that good mid-range competitive side with a couple of high potential players and then just fill in the blanks and move on the older players.

After getting sacked for the first time ever in my FIFA club career I moved onto Bournemouth and took them from Championship to EPL which was a shitload of fun. So I might do that at some stage too.
