Finals Chances 2008

The use of the ladder predictor has showed me the finals buzz is still very much alive. However dropping must win games over Essendon, Sydney and St Kilda has put us in a tough position. The bottom line is if we want a sniff at finals we must win 2 of the remaining 3 games. Those being against North (TD), Brisbane (Gabba) and the Hawks (TD). The final 2 spots are being fought out by 6 teams being Collingwood, Richmond, Essendon, St Kilda, North and Brisbane.

Collingwood: Port Adelaide, Sydney, Fremantle: 48
Brisbane: Bulldogs, Carlton, Sydney: 36
North: Bulldogs, Carlton, Geelong, Port Adelaide: 46
Essendon: West Coast, Adelaide, Bulldogs, St Kilda: 36
Richmond: Adelaide, Hawthorn, Fremantle, Melbourne: 42

This would have the ladder finishing in this order; Adelaide, Collingwood, St Kilda, North, Carlton, Richmond, Brisbane, Essendon. Assuming we win two tough games in North and Brisbane a low percentage would hurt our chances and unless a few other results fall our way finals could be just out of our reach.

Not a snowflakes chance in hell, with one more win and keep within 30 points of Hawthorn, Ill be absolutly wrapped with our season, Im very happy thus far.

it is very un predictable.
we don't want to look cocky and hopeful in front of other opposition posters because they will bag us if we don't make finals.
also dont want to look like i have no faith.

Exactly right, from 15th to near finals is a fantastic acheivment by our young list. My only wish would be to continue the improvement and make finals next year.

should've/could've beated richmond and essendon perhaps maybe not so much essendon but richmond was a certainty and dropping close games between sydney and adelaide, just imagine if he had of won 2 of those we'd be 5th or 6th im guessing.

But the changes have been drastic this year i think today was a good indication of that regardless of it being Port we came out and stringed 4 quarters together. I'm not saying its out of reach but if we played like we did today (with more accuracy of course) we will be there. If not, next year.
