Can someone go through it slowly for me.

I know the following:

Week 1:

F1 - 1 v 4 (at 1)
F2 - 2 v 3 (at 2)
F3 - 5 v 8 (at 5)
F4 - 6 v 7 (at 6, as long as 1,2,5,& 6 aren't all interstaters)

I'm assuming that there only has to be one final in Melbourne in the first week, is that right?

Week 2 (now this is where it gets fuzzy):

Winner F1 - week off
Winner F2 - week off

Now is it Loser F1 v Winner of F3 or F4?
and is it Loser F2 v Winner of F3 or F4?

The rest i think i know.

Straight from the Power website....

Week one - September 6, 7, 8

Qualifying Final 1 – First v Fourth (Power v Pies)
Qualifying Final 2 – Second v Third (Lions v Crows)

Elimination Final 1 – Fifth v Eighth
Elimination Final 2 – Sixth v Seventh

Week two - September 13, 14, 15

Semi Final 1 – Loser of Qualifying Final 1 v Winner of Elimination Final 1
Semi Final 2 – Loser of Qualifying Final 2 v Winner of Elimination Final 2

Week three - September 20,21

Preliminary Final 1 – Winner of Qualifying Final 1 v Winner of Semi Final 2
Preliminary Final 2 – Winner of Qualifying Final 2 v Winner of Semi Final 1

Week four - September 28

Grand Final – Winner of Preliminary Final 1 v Winner of Preliminary Final 2 @ MCG

Also, the MCG used to demand one final a weekend but that is now back to only one prelim and the grand final (isn't that nice of them).

So presuming the Crows and Collingwood lose next week, they will host a semi-final each against the two winners of the elimination finals. Collingwood will then be playing for a spot in 'Brisbane's Prelim' at MCG and Crows playing for a spot in 'Port Adelaide's Prelim' at AAMI Stadium

So if we win next week, we will play either the loser of the cows v Lions or the winner of the 6 v 7 qualifying final. Which in all probability will be Essendon v Melb. But if WC win & Melb lose (which may happen) it would be NM v WC (i think, assuming Essendon will v Carlton).

There no longer has to be a final each week in melbourne except for the Prelim and Grand Final rounds.........that was the main change that occurred when the AFL re-negotiated the contract with the MCC that now effects Brisbane.......

Am I still drunk or are there others confused by this??? Just read any of the major papers Eago, they have the whole finals system thrashed out about 10 times a week in there!
