Likely to be a Sunday I think, given we would be the lowest on the ladder of the "home" finals teams - at least that's my theory.
In all likelihood it will depend on who plays on what day in the final round as I can't see a finals team have a 4-5 day break.

No finals team could possibly have a 5 day break, as they all play on Friday and Saturday, except Crows and West Coast, who are both not guaranteed to make it.

Even if one of them does make it, as long as it doesn't play on Friday night (which they won't), they will at least get a 6 day break.

I think that might be the way the AFL works it out. My understanding is that the AFL offers the longest break before the next round of finals to the highest ranked teams.

But it is the AFL and these days I have less faith in that organisation than I do in Santa Claus coming at Christmas, so anything could happen.

No (from memory). Finals are owned and operated by the AFL.
Is there a financial benefit to playing finals, other than exposure and hopefully increased membership the next year oh and advertising etc

I think the Grand final winning team get a bit of cash, no?

There is a cash prize from the AFL depending how far you progress

Last year when you lost in these finals you got:
  • EF: $71,500
  • SF: $110,000
  • PF: $330,000
  • GF: $660,000
And the GF winner got $1,210,000

Well, that's not strictly true; you've always got a choice. (It's just that they have consequences.)

Of course, it's another thing if your family is La Familia. :p

If your talking about a protection racket enforced with violence then let me introduce you to my Mrs!!!

So, what you're saying is you're not willing to bleed for the club?! Pathetic! ;)

Temptress?!

Yeah, she's just using clichéd phrases taught by rot learning at the "Sisters for devaluing male pursuits as less than Society".

Finals don't come around often, and are the prize at the end, excluding GFs and Premierships.

How many years since that Eagles debacle, or the Port debacle or that beautiful sex of beating Hawthorn - stuff it I am going. How could I miss out on an opportunity to kick the Jimmy and the Peptides out of the finals

If port win against freo next weekend,

I think it would go like this

Haw gee
Syd port
Us dons
Freo wce

Yeah the only way we dont play sunday is if the hawks/cats game is played Friday.

If it was up to channel 7 they would rather have two melb teams playing on primetime Friday and Saturday nights
